I have been cutting, sewing and quilting,etc....for many years and this is great for viewing but dangerous for cutting. it is a flimsy plastic compared to normal rulers and therefore my blade jumped the side of the outer part of the frame and sliced my finger right open. i called the company and told them it was very dangerous after 6 stitches in my finger. The representative did not find my information important and said "we've had no other known complaints" so.....I thought it important to post. If you choose to buy cut careful. June taylor does make great products but this is not one of them.

Olfa Mats, which are readily available locally, are good mats. I will say I have every size and variety of Olfa Mats. I had trouble with the 24 x 36 splitting over time. For me, they last a bit under 2 years before I get a split. I have had 3 of them. I have not had splitting on the smaller mats. I have the 12 x 18 on my sewing table, and the revolving one and a small one by my embroidery machine. I use them all for various things. Olfa mats hold up over time and are kind to your rotary cutting blades. Prices here are close in comparison to your local fabric store with a coupon. Sometimes you can do better. You would not go wrong with an Olfa. If you need larger or heavier ... 36 x 48 or larger... go for an Adir or an Alvin. No comparison
