WOW WOW WOW !!I have an old REX blindstitch with the table and the big clutch motor and the whole nine yards, My wife Carolyn saw this machine on here and mentioned it to me, and I figured, I know REX is good so lets try it, this is one neat machine, it is same material( i think cast iron) and it is as strong and sews as good as my big one, it has a neat lil motor packaged in the back of the machine. I dont care if you'r a tailor like my self or dry cleaners or whatever, if you need a blindstitch get this one, you dont need the big one anymore,thats it..

I'm using this for custom drapery making and it has already saved me tons of time versus hemming with my sewing machine. It was a little sticky when I first got it but this has improved with oiling and running it. However if you don't know already knowhow to use a blindstitch hemmer you will definitely NOT be able to figure out how to do it by reading the supplied printed instructions as they have been so poorly translated from chinese as to make very little sense.

I have been sewing (clothes, drapes, curtains,etc.) for a long time and used to do the hemming manually to make it look descent. This machine is great and saves me a lot of time. My work now looks professionaly done. The only thing I had a hard time is threading the curved needle.

we own a mens clothing store an needed a new blindstich machine for hemming pants. everyone we looked at was very expensive, $700.00 an up. i did a search on line an found that you had one at a very good price!!!. i ordered it an my husbend and myself are very pleased. we attched it to a work table and it is everybit as good as our old table modle. it is not big but sturdy and does a very good job. i would order this machine again and highley recomend it to others. thank you overstock you came to my rescue agsin.

This has got to be the best purchase I've made in a long time!! This machine runs like a dream, it really feels like an industrial machine. It isn't flimsy at all, it even has a little motor in the back. Nice material too, cast iron, it feels so professional! Started hemming stuff right out of the box! I wish I had this when I was in design school, glad I got it now though! I LOVE THIS MACHINE!!!!!! ; ) My only negative comment about it is that the foot pedal is too light weight ( flimsy plastic) for such a lovely strong machine. I wish it was a metal pedal, maybe I can have it replaced.

Good machine But please make sure you have an adequate and secure place to mount it and use it. It does have a slight rev to it

Purchased this machine on a recommendation of a friend. After I figured out how to operate it I loved it. Instruction book is a lot to be desired. Translation from (I think chineese) is horrible. Manual needs to be updated. You have to know how to sew in order to figure it out. Not for beginners. Machine works great but had a problem with foot control. After about 20 hrs did not work, apparently a short. Went to local sewing machine company and purchased a new electronic control. Foot control is very cheap. Machine supposedly has 5 year warranty, but no where to call or contact if you have a problem. I have a home business doing window decor. This hemmer saves me lots of time. Would recommend to the experienced sewer.

I bought this machine at least 3 years ago. I use it in my design workroom and it's lightweight enough to take out on a job. I highly recommend this machine. The price was unbelieveable! It's a great little performer!

If you are even considering this machine, ADD TO CART! I have been sewing professionally for 25, yes 25 years and never had a hemmer at home. This has changed my life with my home studio. I now can hem in record breaking time. I bought it in the spring just before the wedding alterations came rolling in. My stress level all but evaporated. No more messing around with the crappy hem foot for my regular machine, I just walk across the room to my dream machine, REX, and its done in a snap. What price is YOUR sanity worth? It made my work so easy I almost felt guilty charging my customers for hems, almost. And I have it sitting on a table that is counter height with plenty of room for very large dresses. So much better than something permanently in a cabinet... One word of advice, wipe it down well after it arrives, it has oil on it from manufacturing. It is an industrial machine and needs to be treated as one, it is very fast. So Awesome.

This machine can work wonders, it saves on hand sewing and get the job done faster than you can bat an eye. This machine sews with great speed, and the stitches are just perfect, Its the perfect machine for those alterations, making garments and even doing drapes,I would recommend this machine to any one that sews, it is well worth the money.

I am so happy I made the choice to buy this. It is so easy to use and I can now hem my clothes, in no time and it looks professional. The blind stitch hemmer on my other machine does not even begin to compare with the nice results I get with the Rex. It is a bit heavy, but does stay put when sewing, and worth it. I have to hem so many of the clothes I get and I prefer to hem them myself to save time & money taking them to the cleaners.

I purchased this based on the reviews and wasn't disappointed. I really didn't need the directions, as I have run a blind hemmer before, and that was really the only negitive review. I works like a charm and is fast. I have another brand and this one is far superior.

This is a very well built machine. All metal, nice and heavy. Makes perfect stitches and most of all is portable. I am very impressed with how nice it is. If you are in the market for a hemmer,, this is the one you need. Clamps down to any table.

I bought this machine for personal use. I have never used a hemming machine before. This machineis easy to thread , but the instructions are hard to understand, not written in good English grammer.It's made of good quality materials. Sews fast, so I had to practice a lot. Overall, it is doing what I expected and I am pleased.

I bought the Rex "portable" machine to use in a shop I run where we occasionally want to provide hemming services. (A uniform shop). We have NO extra space, so I bought for size, the name, and hopes it would work out...It did! Since then we have purchased three more for other locations.This machine isn't "lightweight" as far as lifting or carrying. It's a sturdy machine and has worked terrific at all our locations.One small problem we found is easy operator error because it's easy to lean against the knee-lifter while hemming if you don't position yourself not to. Once we realised we were doing this - some problems we had occasionally with stitching was solved.Two months of steady service - easy to use - and takes little to no space. I'm half-thinking of ordering one for my house - but it just seems like overkill after ordering 4!If you hem a lot of clothes (and I even sewed up a bunch of curtain hems - heh!) it is well worth the price.
