I don't know why previous reviews gave this a five star. Included in the kit is a box of safety pins, but only half a dozen straight pins. There's only one needle threader and it's poor quality and designed for very small needle eye. What you're really getting is thread, dress shears and a box. The rest of the stuff is junk. The case is O.K. now, but when it first arrived, the covering was full of air bubbles where the glue didn't stick. Over time, they have tightened so it doesn't look as bad as it did. The case is just like a little old-fashioned suitcase... nothing special, but it will keep things clean. All in all, it's no bargain. If you need all the colors of thread included then it's fair-priced. But if you're not in need for that selection, you'd be better off buying exactly what you need and using a shoebox to keep it in. I'm disappoionted.

The retro-style sewing kit arrived exactly as ordered. The carrying case is sturdy and roomy, allowing room for more items that would be useful as time passes. Included in the kit were not only needles and threads and the usual items, but iron-on tape that is oh, so handy when little guys rip a pair of trousers. Best of all, the gift arrived very promptly.

I bought my daughter her first sewing machine for Christmas and I thought this would be a great way to organize the accessories that are needed. It is fairly complete and she loves all things retro.

What a wonderful beginner's kit. A good basic set that has the implements needed for a future sewer. I have bought this for an 11 year old who I am sure will enjoy it. And the box is very cute.

Very sturdy construction. Inside is lined and partitioned. Looks exactly as described. The thread is a high quality, brand name. I'm very happy with the whole package!
