Great little fringer!
 from Arizona,  May 3, 2008

I wanted this little fringer so badly. Almost bought it from the site where I first saw it. But I looked at Overstock and found it! Saved about $15. The quality is good. It came quickly and now I am making beautiful fringed flowers!

Quilling Fringer
from Indianapolis, IN,  Apr 8, 2008

The product doesn't work like it should. In order for it to cut, you have to pull the paper from the other side. It is way too small as well. I don't like it but this has nothing to do with my satisfaction with Overstock.

Challenging to use
 from Chicagoland,  Jun 6, 2011

This fringer is NOT an easy tool to use. I've been working on it for a couple of days and so far all I can get is VERY narrow fringer. It says that the space between the cuts is variable but if I turn the size knob AT ALL, the paper doesn't move at all. The paper will fringe for 1-3" and then sticks so I have to pull it a bit. Also, I've only been able to get this much movement by fringing 2 strips of 3/8" paper at the same time. I've adjusted the plate that guides the paper (this is the screw that is closest to the middle front of the machine.) So far, the guide hasn't helped. I don't want to attach this to a base and the only answer to this issue I've been able to find online so far is some woman who made 2 different wooden guides for her fringer and I don't understand her (lack of) directions. I'm going to keep trying as scissor-fringing is out of the question for me. Even using the fringer, my hands hurt after about 10-12" and my strips are much longer than that. Also, it is recommended to keep paper in the fringer AT ALL TIMES to avoid damaging the blades.

  • Did the image onsite match the product? Yes* watch size. I first saw this on YouTube so I knew how small it was.
  • Did the description onsite accurately describe the product? Yes although be sure to look at the measurements. It is about the size of a small bar of soap (does anyone still use soap in bars? Lol.)
  • How is the quality of the product? It seems somewhat sturdy BUT I'm afraid I'm going to break it making adjustments to the paper pusher.

I couldn't believe
from Mount Olive, NC,  Jun 19, 2009

I can not believe that this tool is so small. I have yet ot find the correct quilling paper size. I would not advise anyone to buy this grossly overpriced minature. It looks like some appliance in a doll house.

Surprise

Didn't know that this is miniature - it works, but with a lot of effort. Scissors are easier and cheaper!!

Takes a little practice
from Putnam Valley, NY,  Oct 7, 2010

It takes a little getting use to. I find you have to adjust the paper strip in the guide channel occasionally. This little gadget does beat cutting all those fringed flowers by hand.
