I purchased this sewing machine because i needed to fix some of my clothes (mini alterations). I was used to working with industry grade machines so this was an obvious downgrade- BUT, it gets the job done. I would not recomend it if you need to do anything other than small projects. The quality is ok- but i would have prefered it if this machine had a speed adjust with a pedal. I really need both hands to guide the fabric but since i have to push the button to start and stop, i end up messing up alittle. anyways, for the price i would say it's a good buy for someone who needs a quick fix. but i would invest in a better quality machine if i had the money! :)
I purchased this item for my mother. She loved it. She's a very craft-oriented person and this handheld sewing machine is perfect for her smaller jobs. She recently purchased a new cloth curtain for her shower and used the machine to attach a decorative trim. She said all she did was hang the curtains from the shower and it took her about 15 minutes total to finish the trim. It looks gorgeous and I know it would've taken ages to do it using a traditional machine. Love the item!!! As for the compact sewing kit: I was looking for a small sewing box for my mother for the small amount of simple sewing that she has to do and this fit my mother¿s needs perfectly. It's well-organized and compact. Together these 2 products look very nice in the closet as they are both the same color. These products makes a great gift for anyone... All in all these entire 2 products makes a great job!!!!
I bought this machine after looking at several others, but found this had the best reviews. They were correct! I needed to hem some pants, so I only needed a small sewing machine. I was concerned because one of my pants was jeans. With the exception of the seam(can't blame it for not going through 4 layers of denim), it went through the rest with no problems. I bought the machine with the sewing accessory kit and now I have plenty of thread for whatever I need. Great value for the price!
i just needed something to do some basic hemming and projects around the house (curtains and throw pillows), and didn't want to pay the corner seamstress to do it for $5 a pop, so i figured for $20, I can do it myself unlimited... i am SUPER impressed by this little thing, too. it's seriously amazing for a little cheap handheld. i'm not going to attempt full on pattern making here, but for little things, this space saver is definitely the way to go.
I got my machine a few days ago. It is pretty good little machine. Very easy to use. Changing needle or re threading is not difficult at all. Stiches are even and flawless. Since it is battery operated, it lacks power (the only negative).... not for stiching thick material. At this price, it is a great bargain.
It is exactly what it claims to be - a little tiny sewing machine. But in shrinking, it did not get any easier to use than any other sewing machine. There's all the intricacies with threading, bobbin winding, etc that you would have with any other sewing machine... only smaller. Once you accept that it's not point-and-sew, and prepare to take it seriously, it works fine. But if you're expecting an easy to operate device that you can use real quick, like some kind of fabric stapler, you'll be disappointed. If you know how to work a real sewing machine, just get a magnifier, plenty of light, and a tweezers, and you'll be getting fine results with this one in no time. If you don't sew, this will be a terrible choice of learning machine.
i bought this for my mom and she loved it...she uses it for all small jobs around the house.
The sewing machine is cute, but the kit is EXTREMELY tiny. I'd say about the size of an average kleenex box. The threads were of the super small kind...so if I were to want to restock with normal thread from a store, it wouldn't fit (unless they sell those mini sized threads at stores...). The kit may be good for TRAVELING, and that's what they should've said in its descripiton (the other one for sale that is actually identified as for traveling seems bigger than this!). Mine also arrived with missing stuff :(
This little machine is good for small projects or light to medium size materials. It is not intended to do heavy-duty sewing abilities. It's great for hemming drapes (not heavy material) or quick fixes. Perfect for a backstage fixer of costumes and such.
This product works well and is easy to use. I bought it with making curtains in mind. Obviously, it won't hand large jobs with alot of fabric, but I'm sure it will have no problem doing the small jobs I intend to use it for.
I am new to sewing and don't know too much so when the needle became unthreaded from the bottom spool, I didn't know what to do. I thought the instruction manual would help me but it was totally unhelpful any way to hard to read/understand. You need to have a lot of experience to be able to use this supposed "begginners" product, and if you had a lot of experience you would probably want to buy something nicer, anyway. I basically paid for a sewing machine that I only used to make one straight line of stitches and then can not figure out how to use again.
Please don't waste your money on this toy. It's designed like a regular sewing maching but since it's tiny it's extremely hard to loop the thread through all the places, get the bobbin in place and then thread the needle. It came threaded with white thread but I needed black. After many frustrating minutes I had it threaded then it didn't work right...the tension was wrong or something...but since you're working with this tiny tiny machine it's hard to get the material out without thread breaking and unthreading etc. I knew it was going to be small but I guess I assumed it would be a simplier design than a regular sewing maching. To me it's a worthless cheap toy.
The machine will only sew at an extremely fast rate. You can' t keep up and no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to slow down. It is totally unusable,. It is a horrid product.
