Lacis Umbrella Swift Yarn Winder

Have seen this product in higher-end yarn stores over the years and wished i could afford it. Overstock made that possible. it is a high quality, versitile product which was very affordable through Overstock. Works perfectly and makes finishing off my home spun yarn even more fun.

I have the standard Royal Ball Winder at home and really needed a basic swift to go with it. Unfortunately, the cheapest swifts are at least $80 and the nicer ones are over $100. When I spotted this one on Overstock, it was so inexpensive I felt I had to give it a shot. And I'm glad I did! This is not a big, heavy duty swift like my local yarn shop has. But it is a solid, sturdy swift that is a good match for my basic ball winder. If I get a bigger ball winder some day, I may want a bigger swift to go with it. But this swift does it's job perfectly well and at this price it is a real steal.

• Please tell us about the quality of the product. This is a light, plastic and metal swift. It works as it should and is of fine quality for the price. It is NOT a substitute for a big wooden swift!

I have wound several skiens of yarn from lace weight to chunky. I worked well with all. It does take a few minutes to set up. And I am being careful, because it does seem a bit unsturdy. However, if set up right, it works like a charm. If you are looking for a designer swift that is wooden, this is not it. This swift does what it is designed for and I love how it will fold back into a small storage box. This is the practical one. The price is decent and it works!

This is an excellent umbrella swift at a more than fair price. Quite simply it does the job it is supposed to do and for a much better price than you'll find on other swifts. Yes, yes, I understand it is not made out of maple or oak or other hard wood. Its wire and plastic covered wire but gets the job done. I have attached it to a variety of surfaces and the anchor is great both upright and on edge. Awesome value, great performance
