does the job but...
This is the 2nd sweater stone I have purchased. The first was years ago and not through overstock. Both stones removed pilling from sweaters, but this one leaves black residue behind. It sheds part of itself on to the sweater. I just grab a lint roller so it isn't a big deal, but the first stone did not do this. Overall, it does what it's supposed to do.

Great Product!
Wonderful product! I used it on 2 sweaters and 3 blankets, all with heavy pilling, and it removed every teeny tiny little annoyance. First used the ironing board on my patio, but then switched to the back of the glider swing. It proved to be the perfect angle and I was able to remove the pilling much faster. I held the top of the garment on the back of the swing and brushed down with short strokes and then moved the finished piece over the inside back of the swing. It works best if the piece you are brushing is hanging loose. I have since washed the items and the pilling has not returned, but not worried because of the ease of removing the pilling now. I had taken one of the sweaters to the cleaners and they had complained it took 1/2 hour to try to remove the pilling and it still looked the same. I must adivse them of my find! The performance of this product is beyond my dreams.

Removes Pills
The sweater stone removes pills. It does bring the pile of the fabric up however, so in removing the pills the sweater seems to look a little unkempt due to raising up all the fuzz. I've used this on a cotton sweater and a wool blend sweater with the same results. Also, the stone is shrink wrapped. I used scissors to open the sweater stone shrink wrap and accidentally cut the stone, scattering some weird black sulphur smelling powder all over the bathroom. The stone really smells strongly of sulphur, not sure if it imparts it on the fabric but its worrisome to me as I go out the door if I'm going to smell a little funny after using this.
