As a knitter, I often use wools which are soft and prone to pilling. I do have a "shaver", but it requires the sweater surface to be held taut. This simple gadget works really well with stretching the sweater.

Unfortunately, it did not work on my sweater. I think that it might not be the fault of the stone, however. I think the yarn was defective as the sweater stared to pill on the first wearing.Using the stone made all the nasty tufts of pilled yarn sort of smooth out into sort of a fur, which then reverted to pill when the fibers touched each other. Loved the colors in the sweater, but hate the sweater now. Would be embarrassed to donate it to charity, so will continue to wear it around the house.Will try the stone on something else one day, I suppose.

The stone works pretty good at getting the fuzz balls of my sweaters.

this works well on removing fabric lint from sweaters. it covers a large area also.

The stone worked at getting the balls off the sweater, but the pumice flakes off a lot. I had to sweep the floor after I used it. I'm not sure how much settled in the sweater, but it looks nice. It's worth a try if you have a favorite sweater.

I was looking for a way to remove the little balls from a really old but well loved sweater that I own. A friend suggested I try the Sweater Stone and to look for it on Overstock.com. I looked for the product, found the one she suggested, purchased it and then received the product in a fair amount of time. The product worked beautifully. Years ago I worked at a dry cleaners and we used this product. I have been looking for this Sweater Stone for yeaars.It makes your clothes look new again. Works on all types of knits. I bought this for Christmas presents.

I have seen this product for years and finally decided to try it and it works great! So much better than the clothes shavers I have used. I have quite a few Irish wool sweaters that pill after several wearings and it smooths them out without damaging the sweater. Glad I tried it!

I'm totally impressed. Usually I expect these kinds of things to just be a waste of money, but this works perfectly. It's basically just a block of styrofoam-looking pumice which can be used to brush down, smooth out, and lift the pills off fabrics. I've used it on cashmere and wool sweaters, cotton and linen shirts, and old flannel sheets and it worked great on all of them. Be careful when using with more-delicate and loose-knit sweaters/fabrics though and brush in the direction of the pattern, not against it or else run the risk of pulling out an entire stitch or thread. I find it easier to brush while wearing the sweater rather than trying to do it on a hanger or lying flat. The stone itself does wear down during use and will probably leave a small amount of black dust where you are working which can easily be picked up with a damp sponge.

This really works! It does leave some residue, but it gets rid of pilling on sweaters and sweatshirts. I thought it would be more like a stone, but it is more like a black styrofoam.

We had one of these before and used it for years; they don't wear out. In the move it got lost. We had to buy another one because they do work. An overly pilled gray sweater looks presentable again. I was hesitant to use It at first because it doesn't look like it could possibly work,but it does. It takes some time to do this but in the end the sweater looks like new and there's a pile of fuzz left.

works well, better than the sweater shavers. doesn't come with the green box but i just keep it in the cardboard. some people complain that it crumbles but i'm fairly sure it's supposed to//that's part of the design.

These sweater stones are wonderful for making a old sweater look new again and keeping a new sweater fresh and looking new. Just rub the stone gently over your sweater and it picks up all the pilling and removes it. Your floor might look a little pilled out but your sweaters will look great. Use it on cashmere, wools or synthetics it wonderful on knit warm up suites also.

I ordered this to remove the little pill balls on knitted items. It works pretty well. I find it awkward to use due to its shape and the glued on label gives you only one side to use. I really dislike the fact that it crumbles and leaves grit on your sweater. Mine did NOT come with the nice green storage case shown. That would protect it from gathering unwanted lint and crumbling when bumped or for traveling. I was expecting a natural stone material as I have seen. I'm looking for another pill ball remover. Can't reccomend this one for this price.

The sweater stone is great for removing those unsightly pills - quickly and easily. There are no batteries or moving parts, which I like. The only detractor is the gritty debris created by the stone.

Really don't need much more from a sweater stone. Just does what it's supposed to!
