there is a dark residue on the wires-be sure to wipe them down before you use them. Other than they, they worked great!

I have used the knitting blocking wires only once since I received them to block a baby blanket. It gave the blanket a perfect rectangular shape with no scallops that blocking pins alone would cause. It has a fantastic professional look to it.

Very helpful for blocking sweaters, scarfs and knitted items. Easy to use and less pinning. Nice storage tube container.

I have never blocked my knitting until now. I wasn't even sure what I needed to start with. This kit is great for someone like me, with simple instructions and 2 kinds of wires, straight and flexible. I love the storage tube although it is just a steady cardboard tube with plastic tops, it is perfect to keep the wires and yard stick out of my cats' reach!

I purchased this set because it was cheaper than KnitPicks and other site's kits. I am very happy with them. So far I've used them to block the Seascape Stole (long, rectangular lace stole) and they worked great. Wires and pins are sturdy, yard stick is your standard wooden one. The flexible wires will come in handy when I block the sweater I'm working on now.

I already have one set of these blocking wires, which have become invaluable to turn 'homemade' knitted and crocheted items into 'handmade'. There IS a difference! Blocking makes your work 'pop' and shows the pattern details so much better than just pressing. Lacework, in particular, comes out beautifully. I have been making a lot of scarves for a craft fair - when crocheting I can turn out two a day without any problem and found that, when blocking a batch of four or five, that my existing set of wires didn't go far enough. Hence the need for a new set. Having used the existing ones for the past year I was quite happy to find them on this site and at such a good price. They are sturdy enough to deal with bulky weight yarn and yet capable of use on the finest laceweight items without spoiling them. Having discovered them I certainly would not want to be without them in the future.

I bought this item to block my first "for me" sweater. The wires were really easy to use and I was able to block all four sections at once. However, there were not enough T-pins, so I ended up using some thumb tacks. From reading the earlier reviews, it appears that they O.com has improved the shipping method. The tube was packed in a box with lots of bubble wrap - no sign of damage. If you are looking for blocking wires this is a great deal - nearly half the price that I've found anywhere else, not to mention the deal on shipping!

The blocking kit is a must-have for knitters and crocheters. It makes blocking a piece mch easier. Some of the wires have little burs on the ends, which my snag your work but the instructions included with the kit explain how to deal with this potential problem. The kit is worth the investment for serious crafters.

Most of the wires have been flattened at each end - this makes them unusable for my projects which are made up of thin yarns - the pressed flat ends catch and snag the yarn. Do not buy these. Go to a real knit shop to buy blocking wires.

I haven't used my blocking wires yet but I couldn't beat the price! Very nice packaging. I believe the wires are 36" long (or close!) I am glad I bought them. I've seen them for twice the price and they will be handy!

I needed some blocking wires, and was informed by a few people at Ravelry that Overstock had some in stock. The shipping wasn't bad, time-wise. When I received the tube of wires, the tube was obviously damaged during shipping. The wires were a bit bent, but I was able to straighten them out nicely. The yardstick wasn't so lucky, as it was cracked in half and barely hanging on. That's ok for me though, I have a metal yard stick I use. I did let Overstock know about the damage, but I didn't feel the need to send it back, as I needed them for a project, and I could straighten them out. Overall, definitely a good buy.

Different lengths blocking wires. Works beautifully. So much easier and smoother finish that blocking with pins. Only wish it came with more Tpins. Otherwise, great product and comes in and nice sturdy tube for easy storage.
