A really great sewing machine. Product was in perfect condition, perfect working order. Sews easily through several layers of fabric. Stitches are beautiful. Easy to use. Nice manual included. I expect to be using this machine for many, many years. It has metal gears - very hard to find. I did my research before purchasing this machine and I don't think that there is a better bargain around. You will not regret this purchase.
As a sewer for over 40 years, sewing instructor and owner of 2 sewing machines, I was skeptical to buy a refurbished machine for my daughter. After reading the helpful feedback I bought and am very happy I did. My daughter was here when it arrived, we opened it and it appeared new, with all accessories including the manual which was still in it's original packaging. The best part was that when we tested it, it hummed... She was so excited that she ran out to buy fabric and that evening she was making a very large dog bed. This machine sewed the thick canvas fabric without hesitation and I would highly recommend anyone looking for a machine to buy this one including my family/friends. I almost bought this exact machine, new, as a Kenmore for $100 more. When I discovered that the reconditioned Kenmore was sold as a Janome, I decided to give it a try. The machine arrived quickly and in excellent condition.. I tested all the features to make sure they worked correctly and was not disappointed. I have used it for over a month now and am delighted with it. What a great value - thank you Overstocked.com!
What a great machine!!!it sews wonderfully well. It runs quietly and smoothly. the accessories that come with it are terrific too. A fabulous value for the money.
When this factory refurbished machine arrived, I could detect signs of usage- smudges, etc. That made me a little nervous, but I wiped it down and sat down to sew. I am an experienced seamstress, so I put the machine through its' paces to make sure everything worked. this was a gift to my neice (a complete novice). The machine performs beautifully. It is very easy to thread and the drop-in bobbin is easier for a beginner to master. It has presser foot adjustment and needle up/down. The machine has electronics /computerization on board, but it is just as intuitive as a simple mechanical machine. I wouldn't hesitate to sew anything on this machine. I am really impressed. overstock delivered right on time. Great price- great machine. Buy one before they are gone! My main sewing machine is the top-of-the-line Janome, and this model performs just as well (with a lot less features, of course- but this machine has everything you need to most routine sewing).
