My serger arrived in like new condition and works real good. Only sewed a few small things on it so far. It was easy to get started since it is pre threaded. NEVER UNTHREAD YOUR SERGER and it will be a breeze to get going. The manual is very good. I wish we could order a catcher bin for it.

Haven't had it long, but so far I am enjoying it. Instructions okay if you have sewing experience.

I'm a professional costumer on the Las Vegas strip, and highly prefer industrial overlock machines. But after getting this Janome home serger, I have to say that I'm impressed! I've already put quite a few miles on this machine and only once has a looper thread broken, which was mostly my fault. Don't waste your money on a fancy machine -- for plain ole' serging this a great & reliable work-horse.

I've never had a serger until I bought this one, but I don't know how I lived without it! What I love is that it's tough. Things that my sewing machine needle breaks on go right through this machine. I'm a professional costumer and I put it to the test - I would buy another in a heartbeat and plan to look into other Janome products.

Very good value. I sew lots of flannel pj pants and this has been a real timesaver.

i was a little leery as the product was refurbished, but it was a great price. as i am an infrequent sewer: 5 or 6 outfits a year, so i didn't want to spend a lot of money on a serger. as with all sergers, the threading and tension adjustments took some time to figure out, but once i got it going, it worked like a charm. i love it and use it in all my sewing projects, though they don't call for a serger. saves me lots of time and effort in hemming and finishing!

I would never recommend this product. It has serious design flaws!!!

• Please tell us about the quality of the product. The design is flawed. The directions for rethreading needles was not completely accurate. Some of the loops for threading were hidden so that they were virtually impossible to thread.

I have had my serger for 9 months now & I absolutely love it! It definitely makes sewing knits much easier.

since it is heavy duty she can do many more application and it should cause her machine to break down like her other serger.

I've only used it one time to alter my daughters old bell bottoms into a pair of skinny jeans and she proclaimed me a goddess - I guess that was worth the cost of the machine in itself. Seriously though, the price was great in comparison to others that I have researched. As far as performance, I took my lead from some of the other review and more experienced users. I look forward to some great projects ahead. I will say it does not replace a sewing machine at all, so just keep that in mind.

This is my first serger, so I'm still getting used to it. It seems far easier to use than I thought it would be. Threading it hasn't been hard and the instruction book has been useful.

I have been looking for a semi heavy duty serger. I wanted something very basic. This is perfect for me. I am very pleased.

i did not use it alot, but it works on me with no problem. Janome is always a brand name in sewing field.

The price is right. The machine arrived quickly and was well packed and in excellent condition. The machine does what I want. I will say that the instructions were a bit skimpy and the threading is a bit intimidating so leave the threading in place and tie your threads on. You will be OK!

I've wanted a serger for quite a while and this one was affordable and is doing great - I'm treating it like an industrial, using it to make the costumes for a high school musical and it's humming right along. Wasn't even too hard when one of my students managed to unthread it!

After doing my research on sergers (this being my first one), this one was definitely the most reasonable in price. I read other reviews on here and had no problem threading it by just tying the new thread onto the thread that's already there. It is extremely easy to use; in fact, I wish I didn't have to use my sewing machine at all! No broken threads, no tangles, no nothing. Even though (apparently) it's small in size it certainly isn't small in ability! I'm actually glad it isn't any larger; it makes it easy to move around and store. The instruction book was also very easy to read and understand despite other reviews I've read. This is a definite buy!
