I am pleased with my purchase. I've tried more expensive sewing machine with lots of functions inbuilt. I wasn't happy, because half of the functions I won't be using ever. I like this because it's just right for my daily needs, has one step button hole and it's "heavy duty". That's what I need for home decor fabrics.It came nicely packed, with manual and all the parts. After using it for over two weeks now I love it. The motor runs quite and smooth, machine is light weight and it's very simple to use. I would recommend this to anybody, beginner or pro.
I ordered this Janome machine so I could take a sewing class and learn to sew finally. This machine is so incredibly easy to use and sews perfect every time. Super easy to thread. Anyone can use it. As a first time sewer, I just wanted a basic machine. You can't even tell that this is a refurbished machine. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a basic machine without all the bells and whistles for a decent price.
I haven't sown in years but this sewing machine made it easy to get back into it. The instructions were easy to follow and the sewing machine glided through thick material.Even though it was refurbished one would never know it. Thanks Overstock
I have now had this machine for over 6 months, I have sewn clothes, blankets, bags and upholstery the machine has handled everything great! The manual is very good, has good instructions and pictures for everything. Read it, you will learn a lot about your machine and how to fix minor problems. Here are a couple of things I have learned:1. You need to use janome or kenmore bobbins if you don't you will have a problem with the thread. Other bobbins may look the same but they do not work the same.2. Pull the thread out 3-4 inches before sewing or it will get stuck and cause frustration.3. Do not use cheap thread it isn't worth it.4. If you have checked everything and are still having problems put a new needle in. Old needles really mess things up.
Got this on a whim for my wife on her birthday. She's never been into sewing but she said she wanted one so I got this one. SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT!! I have seen a whole new side of her. She is sewing everyday now. The machine works great and is nice and simple. I would definately reccommend it.
