My family is working on genealogy and, as it turns out, our great-grandfathers (and many others in our family) fought in the Civil War.... what makes this pattern so spectacular is, MO is a "split" state (right down the middle of the towns RR track) so, in order to "cover" the towns for which ever side won - N. of the track went North - S. side to fight for the South. My GG parents did both - 1 North the other South. There homes were seperated only by that RR track (which is still used). Pattern perfectly displays my family - those as a longtime embroidery person - would have preferred the pattern sold alone, not as a kit(purchased my fabric elsewhere anyway). FYI Gettysburg (my fav) site has a limited edition of 150th medals/charms. I plan to stitch on the medal when I'm through with this pattern.

I haven't finished this piece yet, but I am extremely happy with the quality. Having the threads pre sorted is wonderful. The charts are clear but a little small. I would purchase more of these in the future.

This is a very good project for someone who enjoys creating things. Since I am disabled and homebound, this makes time go by and wind up with a piece of art to keep or give as a gift.
