this paper trimmer has all the right features- too bad they don't work the way they should.The magnetic ruler is a good idea but its awkward to keep moving everytime you move or remove paper. The plastic ruler that hold the paper in place by the blade broke at one end after about a month or two when I had to take it out to clean the cutter's track, which clogs often. The one positive is the blade IS self-sharpening and I have never replaced the blade in the two years of owning it- which is good because ther is (to my knowledge) no replacement blades which makes it a pretty expensive purchase.

Really enjoy this trimmer, helps out better then any other trimmers I have used.

I spent a fair amount of money on this product, both for the manufacturer and for the look of sturdiness as an "at home" trimmer. It worked well for a while, but it wasn't long before the markings began to wear off in the places you used most often. Then I began to have trouble with the "self sharpening" blade that indeed does not self sharpen. I never found the magnetic ruler to be of any advantage at all. I loved it in the beginning when it was new, but for a rather spendy item and what should have been solidly built, it fell apart fast, very sad to see it no longer be of much use to me.

I've used many paper trimmers, both for business and home office and this is by far the best. The cut line is true, it has the necessary weight and sturdiness and then - you can fold it in half! Because the bottom is magnetized (there is a great magnetic ruler that comes with it) I can store some metal notions on the bottom. But defiantly, it's the cut that counts and this beats even the "big boys" that are $150+.

I got this trimmer after much shopping around. I love it! I am a casual scrapper, and use it about once a week. It is a bit heavy, but that is an asset when you have it on the table to trim. It does not fit into my large scrap booking rolling tote, but that doesn't bug me as much as I thought it would. I have no problem with paper shifting and don't use the magnetic ruler that much. I love how the blade sits in either side in a little niche, so no sliding back and forth. The blade is very sharp and a true cut. I would definitely recommend this to my friends!

I have had this sturdy trimmer for 4 or 5 years and I use it so much the measurement numbers have worn off and the blade is dull, so I'm buying a new one. My trimmer gets very, very heavy daily use, if you are a casual crafter I'm sure it will last a lifetime.
