  • A TRAIN, Gramma!!

I haven't actually made this one yet, but I've done several other Bucilla projects so I'm confident it will be fine. I got it for my train loving, 3 year old grandson, who just saw the picture on my iPad and his reaction was priceless..... I can't wait to give it to him finished in December!!

I bought these in blue stripe and multicolor as a gift for my sister as we have always "fought" over the vintage one's inherited from my grandmother. I know my sister will like them when she receives them. They are as described and almost exactly like the one's we got from Nana.

If anyone can compare a tea towel from "today" vs one from many years ago, it is impossible to find the ones from long ago. The towel itself is fine, good size and quality. I bought them to embroider on, after washing, they are very hard to get a nice flat pressed surface again. So that is my disgruntlement - if you just plan to use them for dishes and wash and dry, defintely good. I need to figure a way to press them, maybe more starch...

white material is thin, low thread count. Best results achieved when white flannel is used as a backing layer before embroidery. With flannel backing the raw ends of threads are not visible on the finished side and gives the square weight/body. Makes a really cute baby quilt when squares are joined with sashing. Easy project, fun to work.
