  I was very disappointed in the quality of this easel. I have used metal easels of similar design in the past and found them satisfactory. This model however has plastic handles on knobs which must be tightened down securely. The plastic handles have a tendency to strip, and then you are left without a good way to release the knob or tighten it further. I am a professional artist and need a sturdy easel which will stand up to lots of use as well as support large heavy canvases. I would not recommend it to you if you need this same level of equipment.

  This was surprisingly easy to put together. Don't worry about the crazy translated instructions. They won't really help. Just look at the diagram and take a look at a picture of one put together online. The bigger that picture the better so you can see where everything goes. Once you figure it out you'll realize how ingenious it really is...and how easy it will be to break down and move if you ever need to. Works well for a small studio space like you'd find here in NYC.

  The easel arrived as described. There were no assembly instructions and we still don't know what is the function of the strap hanging from the easel. Aside from that quirk, we are very pleased at every level with the product.

  Really nice product, very sturdy, hard wood and all the parts were wrapped nicely. The directions were entirely pictorial, but not too difficult to figure out. Took about 2 hours to build. The easel is really nice, very heavy duty, and a great deal for the price!

  We needed to purchase an easel for our 7 year old daughter. So, we was looking for something that would fit a growing girl, our discriminating tastes and our budget. There are some beautiful easels on the market, but made for smaller children. And many of the wooden ones we found were too light weight, made with cheap wood and easily tipped; or made really well but just too expensive for our budget. This easel is just what we were looking for - the wood is high quality and beautiful; the easel is heavier + sturdy in its construction, so it won't easily be knocked over by kids or dog; the white board and chalk board are also nice quality. It did take a bit of time to put together on Christmas morning - I'd say close to 45 minutes. But we are very happy with the results!
