It'll do for some activities but it certainly doesn't do well for stamping on metal items like dogtags or jewelry pieces. Even my husband took it out and tried it on a pice of wood with a real hammer and the results were OK but not for doing jewelry with.

Just starting out making hand stamped jewelry, I was looking for something affordable but well made. And this is it. Who wants to spend $200+ on a stamping set when you don't know if it's a hobby you'll keep? The stamp holder is a good idea, but doesn't work well. You get a deeper indent just by holding the stamp itself and hammering it in.

This stamping set is exactly as I expected it to be. Great price and good packaging. I am going to see if I can find a larger stamp set from the same company now.
