This is a wonderful sewing machine. It's easy to use, has some lovely features to it, such as the automatic threader, which for those of us who wear glasses is an absolute eye-saver and the reverse stitch button for double-seaming. It's easy to thread, both upper threading and bobbin threading and it's very easy to use, with tension, stitch length and stitch type controls in the logical places. Also love the buttonhole foot as it allows you to put your button in the slide and will automatically calculate the correct length for your buttonhole. The machine is also lightweight, which compared to my old Singer is a blessing. Lovely machine.

I cleared space in anticipation for the newest edition to my crafting area and I was not let down. I am not a seamstress, not by far, but this machine was so simple, the instruction have lots of picutres, that's a bonus, but even without the pictures it is really easy to follow. For being refurbished, it looks like new. The machine is in fantastic shape and all the little goodies in the "glove compartment" we perfect. If I had to do it again, it would be a no brainer. Once again, an Overstock satisfied customer.

It only had 25 stitches which is not a big deal, but it didn't have the accessory or the storage and the company when contacted just sent me another one that didn't have the accessories or accessory holder either. When I contacted them again there as been no response... but it was from an outside company, and not overstock. Over a year later I am still trying to get the right parts.
It has been a very long time since I have sewn on a machine, and thought I would give this machine the chance. So I was very impressed with the many newer features they put out on these sewing machines. Very easy to read instructions with illustrations helps a beginner sewer like myself. Loved the ease of the needle threader and cutter. Overall I would say for a refurbished machine and at a great price, I would recommend this Brother sewing machine to others.
This is an excellent machine for a beginner. I bought it for my adult daughter who is a beginner sewer. It has weight to it and does not feel like a toy. It sews stitches like a more expensive model and is more than adequate for sewing household items like table runners, bags, curtains and quilt blocks. It has not been tested for clothes sewing. I am very impressed with this machine.
