This is my first machine and I bought it to mostly mend things. It's been very easy to use with no trouble figuring out how to thread the machine, load the bobbin, use the auto needle threader or change stitches. It's light weight but stable enough that it doesn't bounce around when sewing. The price was right! So far I'm having a great time playing with this machine. I may even take some sewing classes!

I purchased this machine at a great price and with extra "feet". I am learning to quilt and this machne has everything I need and more. Plus is is light weight enough to take to class. It is very easy to learn to use and the instruction book is very helpful and easy to follow. I think a beginner would have no trouble starting with this machine.

I bought this machine to replace a machine that I had for about 20 years. My old machine literally DIED late last summer. I have been lost for about 6 months without a sewing machine; not that I do a lot, but I make repairs, make some simple things, like pajamas, shorts, a skirt here and there. I decided to get this particular machine after I got my tax refund and I couldn't afford to spend a lot of money. This machine is well worth it! It was priced just right, and it may not have all the bells and whistles, but it does the basics like a dream! For the projects that I do, this machine is perfect! I was originally going to purchase the next step up, but when I thought about my finances, the projects that I do, and the value......this machine was perfect. I have made 3 pairs of pajamas so far, and just came back from the fabric store with a few more projects that I just can't wait to get started on. This is a very good machine for those who just want to make some simple items, make repairs, or to learn how to sew. I have taught basic sewing for a few years in a local fabric and craft store, and this meets my approval. It's simple to use (and that's the main thing), it's not too complicated, and it makes sewing a fun activilty. That's why I consider this a great "starter" machine. Even an experienced sewer with a limited income (like me) will like this machine.

This machine cost slightly more than having my old machine tuned up. It's lightweight, with way more features than my old machine. I really appreciate the self threading feature and its so easy to use.

I own seven sewing machines and needed some low cost ones for a class I teach. These were the perfect price and weight and they work as well as any new ones I have bought.

i have NO sewing machine experience, and bought this to appease my craving for domesticity. it is a super- easy machine to use & the instructions are pretty straight-forward. i needed friends with sewing skills to tutor me on how to hem & such, but the machine rocks. i highly recommend it., though i have no idea how to use the extra feet. word.

I purchased one of these machines for my daughter in law for Christmas. My sister, who is a professional seamstress, set it up for her and said it was a very good value, had everything needed and easy to use. So I got another one for my sister to use for noncommercial sewing and she loves it.

I’ve only used this a couple times so far, but it’s been so great! It’s so nice to have the automatic needle threader and its SO easy to learn to use! I HATE reading instructions, but the instructions were very user friendly. I would definitely recommend!

This is my first machine, and so far I am very pleased with it. It arrived in excellent condition, only one small reddish marking on the case, hardly noticeable. It works beautifully. The manual is reasonably clear and helpful, and the machine is easy to use. I highly recommend this product.

I'm trying to learn how to sew and this is my first machine. It seems to me this is a great machine for a beginner since it's simple enough not to be overwhelming but it also has nice little features like the decorative stitches to make some more advanced projects. I've really enjoyed it so far and the only problem I've had is with loops forming on the back of the fabric that don't really go away regardless of which tension level I choose (it doesn't happen all the time). It could be a problem with the machine but most likely it's related to my inexperience. Overall, very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

This machine works great! Very easy to thread. I was able to sew through denim just fine-just had to go slowly. Overall I am happy with my purchase. I ordered on Wednesday and it came on Friday!

This little machine is wonderful for common sewing projects. It is easy to set up, and sews very smoothly. It is light and easy to move, also.

I needed a machine for basic sewing and this one fits the bill. Bobbin winding is a little tricky, and I'm not sure I'm getting it right every time. Same for the automatic needle-threading feature. Other than that, I'm happy with the machine, and the price was certainly right. I've used it for about three weeks, so I can't give an opinion on how well it holds up to use.
