I have never sewn anything much less even thought I would ever know how do embroidery, but this machine is awesome...I had it set up and working fine in just one hour. This is my new hobby. The embroidery feature is easy after you figure out the tension settings and I have made awesome creations for my son. It is very easy to switch the machine back and forth from sewing. It was refrub. but looked just like new to me; I would recommendend to any new hobbyist. EASY and fun!! This is a very theraputic hobby; talk about stress relief.

I bought this machine as just a toy while my 17 year old Swiss machine went in to a refurbishing( I paid $2500 for that in 1988). I also wanted to try out an embroidery machine to see if I really wanted one. So, I am used to a quality machine that delivers consistent stitching on a variety of materials. I am surprised at how well this machine sews, how much fun the little features are: automatic threading cassette, automatic thread cutter-what a blessing!. It took a few days to get used to the computerized screen after using a mechanical for so many years. The embroidery machine is very nice and also takes optional cards. It does a beautiful job. On the downside, it has a lot of plastic parts which may not be durable. Overall, this machine is a great value, fun, and easy to use. I am really surprised at how nice it is.

Thisn unit works pretty well on light duty materials but labors much on material such as denim. i was forced to buy another machine to do what this one could not. I based part of my decission on another review which i am borderline regretting. All in all this worked out fine as we use this as an alternate use machine for a different thread color and stitch as well as light embroydery. Machine is good not great. TinyM

My sewing machine was a reburb, but other than not coming in the orignal box, it appeared to be new. Not having used a digital machine before I actually had to use the manual and was amazed at the ability of such a small sewing machine. Tried an failed at the embroidery so I enrolled at a class at a local sewing center. I found out machine embroidery is all about the stabilizers. I am very happy with my machine and look forward to playing with its many features.
