My husband bought this sewing machine for me after hearing me yelling at my old machine. I love this thing. I have had it for about a year now and I use it at least 5 times a week. It's awesome, I dont really use the embroidery as much as I did when I first got the machine, but it was easy and fun. I might go back to doing it again. The previous lady said something about the auto threader, mine did break recently but Brother has a 20 year warranty on their machines. I am going to look into it. The auto threader is a really nice feature and its easier than other auto threaders I have used. Its quiet, lightweight, fast. I love it. We cannot afford $1000 for a machine, but this machine runs like a $1000 machine. I love it.
I am a beginner at embroidery but this machine make it very easy. i did get frustrated at first, but after COMPLETELY reading the manual (which i recommend) it was very simple. The LCD touchscreen walks you through step-by-step on how to thread the machine to wind the bobbin, etc... The only drawback on this machine is the 4x4 embroidery area which limits your space. (Another possible drawback is the lack of certified Brother dealers. I didn't know until i had the machine the closest dealer is 4 hours away in another state.) I am very satisfied with the machine and for the price it can't be beat!
Works like a charm. All you ever need. Changing from regular sewing to eembroidery is a bit inconvenient but machines where you don't have to are a lot more convenient. Would like to embroider larger than 4x4 but for starters, this is fine. That would be the only reason to upgrade to a more expensive model.
i purchased this machine as have dreamed of having one to make my old cloths and not so fancy things look interesting and new.....how disappointed i was when i learned it has a defect with the auto threader....i am losing my eyesight and was looking forward to sewing again.....now i have lost my little money and am so sad i cannot see my little dream come true......very very very sad....
