Learning machine
This is a great machine for a beginner or taking to sewing classes. I teach sewing in Rancho Cucamonga and Upland Cali Parks and rec. I have five of these machines and use them as rentals for my students. They are a great little machine. I recommend these machines for purchase to my students often.

good machine...
This is a good machine if you only want a zig zag or straight stitch machine. It can various sizes of zig zag and you can move the needle to left, right or center. It does not have an automatic button setting or a four step option, however the manual shows you how to make a button hole manually and it isn't that hard. It can also do a twin needles which makes a nice hem. this is a good starter machine and for the price it can't be beat.

Addicted to sewing now!!!!
This is an awsome product!!! I, unlike all the other reviews have never sewn in my life other than by hand!!! I have had this sewing machine for one month, and already I am ADDICTED!!!! Not only is it cute, it's easy to use. I read the directions, followed them and now I can't be stopped! lol I have made 4 sets of curtains, a bonnet and a dress and can't wait to make more. I would deffinatly recommend this product!!!! It's great for first time sewers, my only issue is the tension, I know that tension is a tricky thing so i just have to play with the machine to get it right. It's beyond easy to thread and the bobbin isn't hard either. I love this product!!!!!

GREAT!!!!!
I purchased this refurbished unit because I just wanted to have something around the house to do some mending of my children's clothing. This unit feels just like a brand new machine. No signs that it was refurbished. It worked perfect right out of the box. Its not one of those fancy machines (had those before) where you have a lot of stitch options but will get the job done. How many people really use all the those stitches. I never did and found it ended up being just a waste of money. Perfect machine and would definitely recommend this to a beginner or more experienced sewer. Thanks Brother.... you created a wonderful machine!

Just buy new
I knew I was going out on a limb buying a refurbished machine, but I thought I couldn't beat the price, and I wanted the machine to do a few sewing projects. I received my machine in the mail quickly, about three days. I used it to do two baby projects. It worked perfectly at first, and I was surprised. I didn't even get to finish the second project because it stopped working. It would not sew at all, nor pick up thread from the bobbin. I changed the needles, I adjusted the bobbin, nothing worked. I'm very disappointed that I wasted the money. Now I will just go buy a new machine.

Good value
The sewing machine was delivered in no time. Although a reburished machine, it looked nearly new. The only down side is the instructions are not that easy to follow. We ended up calling the Brother customer help line for assistance.

1 Day Old
So, I've never sewed before in my life and was looking to start. The box arrived yesterday and I was and still am very excited. I just finished taking in a shirt, but mid way through the under-thread bobbin section kept jamming with string and making bunches of string knots balls on the underside of the fabric. I'm not sure if its my fault because I followed the instructions as best I could (the instructions assume you have a basic understanding of how the machine works, so it was a little confusing), but I may have done something wrong with the bobbin part. I'm not sure why it does it, but the first time I had to go in and take out all the free parts I could in the under part where the bobbin is contained, and pull string out from the back. If you know what I'm doing wrong, let me know! Otherwise, if its just me doing something wrong, this is a cute little machine. One other thing is that you cant sew slowly, you press down the foot pedal and it buzzes until you press it half way and then the machine kicks into gear at a pretty quick pace. So as a beginner I felt like I had to be on my toes to catch up with it.
