My sewing machine of 40 years finally gave up, and I was forced to purchase a new machine. My husband and I immediately went to the Overstock site to price a new sewing machine. Since I do only occasional sewing, I was interested in a non-complicated machine. Wow!! What a difference this machine makes in the ease of sewing!! I ordered one evening and the refurbished Brother machine arrived a few days later. Everything was perfect about it when it arrived and after a little time studying the instruction booklet (which was included) I was making perfect seams! Now if they could only thread themselves!!!!
I am glad to have it, it cost less than what is available out there and it works as if it's new. It will suffice for basic sewing needs.
I bought 3 of these machines for a beginner sewing class. These machines have been perfect for this project and the price was great. I would buy more if I needed them. I would recommend this machine for any beginner, then when the beginner wants more fancy stitches, give this to a friend or daughter and buy another one with more stitches. I worked for Singer sewing company and I have a Bernina and a Kenmore, but I would buy one of these for my daughter or granddaughter if she was wanting to learn to sew.

The sewing machine is a very good model all I wanted was a simple easy way to sew so I did not have to do it by hand this is perfect for what I need it looks brand new too.

My Brother LS 30 jammed up on me the first time I used it. I thought it was me so I took it to my sewing teacher and she said that I needed to take it somewhere to get repaired. It's a simple machine but I could not get it to do a simple straight stitch. I ended up returning it for a refund. The 15 yr old machines in my class did a better job than this product.
