I am a beginning embroidery machine user, but so far I love this machine. Yes the embroidery field is a little small, but you can't be too picky considering the price. It is very easy to use, even for someone like me who is afraid of new computerized electronics. I am really enjoying using it and would recommend it to anyone. It also would make a great sewing machine, even if that was all you used it for. As for the durability, I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but I'm hoping it lasts a long time -- I certainly plan to use it a lot!

I have sewn for years as a business, and was interested in an embroidery machine, but didn't know much about them. I didn't need a huge impressive machine. I am getting bad eyesight, and love the self treading needle. All things work on the machine and are great. I'm very impressed, and am recommending the machine for my mom, who is also looking for the same features. It did come with a missing part, a cover for the embroidery carriage. I emailed the number given, and recieved the part in 3 days. I' m very satisfied.

I have been using my machine for a little less than a month and I absolutely love it. It took me 2 hours to get it to thread itself, but it was smooth sailing after that. I embroidered with it on the second day and haven't stopped since. It has some things that it is picky about-like the bobbin has to be wound smoothly or it might tangle, but with patience and a little practice you can be making beautiful things in no time.

I LOVE this machine!! I was hesitant because of some of the negative feedback but ordered any way. The machine is so simple to use!! I was afraid of the computer but it stepped me through all the instructions step by step!! I am very happy with my purchase!! The price is terrific!!

this machine is ok if you are just starting out. I didn't receive all the items pictured on the Overstock website. I am lacking one extra large spool holder and the second thread cassette that was supposed to come with the machine. I wish my husband had ordered a different machine for the money. Perhaps one of the PE variety.

I really wanted to like this machine - the price was fantastic. Unfortunately, I experienced numerous problems with it: 1. Automatic threader often failed to thread the needle - and what a hassle it was to load oversized thread spools. 2. Periodically, the machine would stop sewing and say that I needed to rethread. 3. I had to sit and watch the thread unwind when sewing an embroidery pattern. The thread would periodically get tangled around the spool "post." 4. Occasionally it generated HUGE nests of bobbin thread and then the machine would lock up. 5. The final straw for me was when the machine stopped reading a memory card that it had read just fine for several days. My PED-Basic card reader can read/write to the card just fine, but the sewing machine decided that it was an "incompatible card." Sorry to say that I had to return the machine.

Overstock is terrific, but this product is not a good purchase. The threading mechanism in both the top thread and bobbin are poorly designed, causing many rethreads of the top thread cartridge during embroidery, horrible "birds' nests" underneath and wasting a lot of expensive thread and time. I strongly recommend against this machine.

The machine came in pristine condition. I am still learning how to use the many stiches and embroidery options. I have sewn a lab coat and a bed skirt. It is easy to use and I love the self threading feature. I am excited to learn how to embroidery.

It is relatively easy to use. I bought this for my teenage daughter she loves to sew and always wanted to embroider. I haven't sewn in years and had never used a computerized machine. When I tried it I found it easy to use and did a wonderful job. My SIL has a $1000 machine and she was amazed how this one did as much as hers does. She was jealous.

I bought this machine for my mother and she loves it! She said it sews better than her Singer and makes perfect buttonholes. As for the embroidery function, she is very impressed. I researched many and this is an awesome value for the price.

I purchased this machine to make school uniforms. I am always cautious when I purchase "refurbished" electronics because frequently, there are hidden defects that are the reason why they were returned to begin with. BUT, I needed a machine and I couldn't resist the 75% discount that Overstock offered on this machine. First, the operation is very smooth and quiet. It is also easy, from bobbin winding to threading. The automatic needle threading is, as they say, "da bomb". I was able to understand the "quick start" guide to get going without going to the full size manual (which I referenced later for more complex functions). Keep in mind, it has been around 20 years since I have used a full function sewing machine, but this machine performs like a high quality, expensive piece of equipment. This machine is also for embroidery, but I haven't tried that function yet, so maybe I'll post again when I have done so as the school uniforms have embroidered logos. The only reason I gave it a 4 on durability is because it's still new, so I'm unsure, but that's not to take away anything from the machine.
