I sew almost every day. I bought my Brother as a portable/spare sewing machine and when it arrived (very promptly), I started sewing on it at home to get used to it. I haven't gone back to my more expensive model yet. It is user friendly, sews very smoothly and has a wonderful variety of stitches. Love it!

My 9 year old daughter wanted a sewing machine for her birthday. She never sewed on a machine before this one. It is so easy. We read the directions only once on how to thread the bobbin and the machine and she does it all by herself now. Great machine. Even her Father is sewing on the machine too.

I am having so much fun since purchasing this machine in September. Having sewn for 45 years on several machines, I can honestly say this is the easiest and best yet. When the box arrived I wasn't sure a machine was in it because it was so light. However, don't let that fool you. This is the first machine I have used that can go through several layers of heavy fabric with ease. I shortened heavy denim jeans, and it sailed right through without skipped stitches. And buttonholes - all you do is insert a button and sit back and watch the machine do all the work. The needle threader took some getting used to. I suggest you practice using a needle with a large eye. Once you get the hang of it you won't have trouble. The presser feet are easy to change. The LCD window tells you what foot to use for what stitch. It's an easy machine to use and so much fun.

I bought this machine a few weeks ago, and have just loved it. So far, I have sewn curtains, a dress, and started a quilt. I have not sewn for 20 years since home ec, but this machine has made it very easy. All of the features are easy to use. It feels like the machine is doing all of the work for me.

This is the first machine i have purchased for myself after having used machines of friends and family over the years. I have to say this machine is simply fantastic, it is very easy to use, I love the drop in bobbin feature and the computerized stitching functions. The needle threader is a little tempermental, but is a nice feature to have. I would recommend this machine to anyone from beginers to pros.

I received this machine for my birthday, and it has been an amazing tool. The ease of use, the functionability and the design of the machine are outstanding for the price offered. I would recommend this machine to any beginners to intermediate sewers. I hope it is as durable as it is fun!

I just love this machine. It is light weight, EASY to use and does so many things. I consider myself an intermediate sewer and bought this for my next level of sewing. What a great choice! The quilting functions are great as well as the little embroidery stitches. It is lightweight which is quite the change from the 1951 Elna I had been using. It says reconditioned but you never would know, its great and works great.

This was a birthday present, the person pick it out of all your choices. So I can say that the person is a happy customer so far. The persons birthday is not until the end Nov., so the functionality of the machine has not be used to date due to the person date of birth being at the end of the month. Once the machine is put to use, we will comment on the functionality.Thanks for the checking-Inn.

I haven't used a new machine a awhile and this one is amazing! Not only was it easy to set up and use, but it's so easy to carry around as well. I'm really impressed with it and I'm sure I will more than get my money out of it. The machine arrived in perfect shape and ready to go.

I do not know how to sew. I attempted to learn on a very old machine but became frustrated just trying to figure out how to set it up. With this new electronic sewing machine I made a skirt for my little girl in about an hour--that's including taking the time to learn how to wind the bobbin and thread the machine! I purchased heavy duty needles for this project just in case the standard needle wouldn't sew through the thick elastic band, but didn't need them--even going on the slowest speed and using the reverse stitch function often, the needle never jammed.There is no indication either on the body of the machine or with the performance that this is a refurbished machine--buy with confidence! Great price for a machine that practically sews by itself--perfect for this sewing novice!

The Brother Computerized sewing machine arrived promptly and was exactly as I expected. It sews very smoothly and is simple to thread and use. Some readers in their reviews mentioned some difficulty in using the threader and after a few attempts I found that I was holding the thread ends and it was not allowing the thread to pass through the eye of the needle. After loosening my hold I learned that I could be successful every time. I am pleased with this purchase.

My first sewing machine and I absolutely love it! I was worried I might be in over my head, but the instructions were so easy to follow; started sewing immediately. It arrived super fast and in perfect condition; no signs it's a refurb.I'm very pleased with this purchase!

This is an upgrade from my old machine and it is taking me a little time to learn all the features, but the sewing I've done so far has been very good. I'm looking forward to using the machine more and using the hemstitch feature. The only reason gave it four stars instead of 5 is due to the lack of carrying case.Overstock is my favorite discount store!

Wow! I love the machine! I (honestly) haven't touch a sewing machine before. It is actually quite easy to teach yourself in this machine. The diagrams engraved on the machine are a wonderful visual aid (for someone like me with zero experience). I'll have sooooo much fun working on my toddler's costume this Halloween! Great price & super fast delivery. Highly recommended.

I LOVE my new Brother CS6000i sewing machine! It was such a nice surprise to receive it so quickly...within just a couple of days! I have been sewing on a Singer for the past 6 years and I guess I just got used to how loud that machine is when it's running. The Brother is so quiet and smooth. I love the needle up/needle down feature...it's not even mentioned in the specs, but it is fabulous to have this option when you are sewing a lot of individual pieces. I am a doll artist and sewing around the curves in fingers and toes is a dream now! I would highly recommend this machine!!!

Love it!!! Maybe I'm over enthusiastic, considering my last machine was terrible. However this works like a dream. I got the self threader to work once so I know it does, I just can't see it so I thread the old fashion way, trial and error. Not using a peddle was strange only the first time, now I find it more comfortable. I do think the machine should be a little more narrow near the feed, as you would have a hard time sewing sleeves on small childrens clothing. I don't like making kids clothes anyway so I'm fine. This machine has enough bells and whistles to make me happy , without being so complicated that I have to use the instruction manual everytime I sit down to sew.

I didn't want to leave a review until I was able to tell if my problems were from my lack of experience or the refurbished machine. I had used other machines that made me want to pull my hair out. Now that I have used this, and learned to change tension for instance, I realize this is a great machine. Much easier to thread than previous machine, doesn't jam randomly or give up for no reason. Very fast and consistent. The bobbin does not wind in perfect symmetry, but that does not seem to affect the performance of sewing. There are a lot of stitches to choose from, but aside from the leaf one, they seem sort of redundant. This is a great machine for its low price and I finally learned how to sew!!

I just used my new machine for my first project, a jumper for my daughter. I had trouble getting the tension right at first, but after playing with it and trying different settings, I was able to get the stitch I wanted. It was easily understandable how to thread it and make a bobbin to get started (similar to my old White machine). I am looking forward to making my button holes and having it stitch my button on for me!!

First time buyer on Overstock and had an excellent experience. Great price! Super Fast Shipment! Sewing Machine worked fantastic. Automatic threader is great...no problems with it at all. I am no way what so ever an expert sewer but this machine has made sewing so much more easier and fun then I ever had in the past. Had a very old machine from my Great-Grandmother and also had a low end Singer that I always fought with. I have had no issues with this new machine. I just want to sew and sew. Works great on sewing through layers of fabric. I am so happy with my purchase (bought back in August) and experience with Overstock. Happy Sewing to those who buy!!! ;-)
