bad lemon

sassy from TX, Sep 13, 2009

I had this machine for 5 months, sewing everyday a lot, it was sewing fine, but then it begin to have problems with tension and finally the motor started scretching and lock up. I feel like fixing this problem will be worth the money. Cheaply made machine. No lubricating required as instruction states...how can it be? Decent sewing machine needs lubrication. Maybe if you sew only occasionally it will last you longer, but for hard working horse it's not a right choice.

Great for beginners!

midget27 from Washington, Sep 3, 2009

I was a little scared to purchase a sewing machine with the little experience I've had with them. I've never been very good with machines. For my birthday my mother in-law gave me some money to put toward a sewing machine if I'd like. It was the best decision I've ever made! I've had it for a few months and haven't had one problem. I'm sewing blankets, curtains, skirts, and I even did a little embroidery for my little brother's birthday. I sewed on a "triforce" to one of his shorts and my mom has to pry them off of him so she can wash them. It turned out fabulous! The best part is it comes with instructions on what stiches they recommend using. The computer screen tells you which foot to use. You don't have to be an expert to make this sewing machine work. It was sooooo easy to use! It was perfect! Thanks Overstock! I wouldn't have been able to afford a sewing machine like this for a while without them!

Great purchase

mariuchi from CA, Aug 26, 2009

Thought this was a great purchase. Needed something for simple mending. Easy to use. Quality seems good too. Arrived soon after purchase. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a basic good sewing machine. Was able to use it to mend a thick back pack strap as well.

Brother Sewing Machine

Anonymous from Indiana, Aug 9, 2009

The machine arrived in great shape. Worked with the machine for 2 month, not one problem in the over all operation of the sewing machine. I've owned other brother sewing machines and the functions for this machine work great. This machine was a step up from my old brother sewing machine, which was not a computerized machine. The only complant is the needle only sets in two positions. Also their was not a clear sewing foot. Plus the settings for the machine clear every time you turn the machine off. Guess the computer part of the machine. Over all this was a gret purchase and I'm very pleased with the sewing machine. If their is a clear sewing foot available for this machine, please let me know. I would gladly purchase it.

Awesome!

jennag75 from Monterey, CA, Aug 6, 2009

Okay, so I just got this a few days ago and I'm totally in love! It is so easy to use, took me about an hour to read through the manual and get familiar with the machine. Some of the stitches require different presser feet (all of which are included) and they are so easy to change out, you just push a button. I love that the needle automatically returns to the "up" position and it's very easy to thread. Also no bobbin case is awesome. This is a great machine for someone who's looking to upgrade from a basic machine (me) and someone who's never really sewn with a machine before. If I were pressed to say something negative it would be that the light is less than awesome, but that's what my desk light is for! Totally worth it, completely awesome, easy and fun.
