I love this machine,I have a Brother 2002D that I use mostly for embroidery.This machine is lighter,but it has some of the same features that my brother has.I have had this machine for about 3 weeks and have used it for basic sewing.It has a great selection of stitches and an easy buttonhole just like my big brother has,I just think it is the coolest little machine.Yes, I would recommend it to anyone that wants a basic little machine.

I have used my Brother BC1000 for the first time this week. It really sews good. I have hemmed jeans and done repairs. My brother and daughter-in-law both have one just like mine. It is a great machine.

My first machine had a bobbin issue, but Overstock had a new machine at my door before I could return the first one. I've not sewn in 12 years. This machine is like coming home to an old, much improved friend. Playing with the stitches is pure joy and the needle-threader is a godsend for those of us with bi-focals. My daughter and I have made some projects, planned others, and I'm taking MY machine to Mom's next week to sew. (She can keep hers :) At <10lbs my Brothers BC1000 can go anywhere that I go.

This is a replacement for a 20 year old Brother sewing machine. It's amazing the changes in technology. This is a great machine for the price - very quiet, very smooth and simple to change from one stitch to another. Needle threader is a bit to get used to but AWESOME once you do.

A friend of mine brought this hot little item to a quilt retreat. After picking it up (it weighs next to nothing, honestly, a kitten weighs more) and listening to her sew on it (no noise, nothing, we sat around and talked, we could hear the TV, very, very quiet machine) - I came right home and ordered one (so did a couple other ladies attending the retreat). While the big O had a great price on them, I had a coupon for a different online store which may purchasing there a better deal. BUT, after waiting two weeks, and my friends who bought from Overstock received their machines and were happily sewing away, and I was still waiting (when I called, I was finally told they were backordered - gee thanks!) So, within days I received a machine from Overstock, and have been sewing ever since. It works just like any other sewing machine, lots of different stitches, drop in bobbin, very easy to thread - so I won't bore you. My needle threader was broken upon arrival (it is a delicate little thing to start with) - Since I wanted the machine anyway - Overstock credited my account $10 (very fair in my opinion). Don't hesitate to order this little machine - for quilting or clothes making, if you travel, or need a machine that you'll be moving often - this is the one for you.

I bought this sewing machine for my daughter. We have shared a sewing machine for several years. She is now married and moving with her husband out of state. We have been using the machine to try it out before she moves. It works well. We like the chose of stitches and the ease in choosing them. It is light weight and easy to move around. Some parts are plastic, such as the bobbin cover and I worry they may brake with time. But are fine now. Others have written in their reviews that this is not a heavy duty machine. I found that true also, but knew that when we bought it. It can't go over a thick seam and probably wouldn't do we on heavy denim. But it is really a great deal for the money. We got more than we had hoped for. Thanks overstock!

Fool proof machine, easy to use, everything I've sewn looks like a million bucks. Definitely a good choice.

Pros: Easy to use. Lots of features. The computerized error message indicates what you're doing wrong which is very helpful. Cons: I have only had this machine for a few weeks, however the automatic threader broke within minutes of my first session of sewing. No cover or additional bobbins. The machine takes a special sized bobbin and only one comes with the machine so until I order more or find more at a local store, I have to unwind and use the only one provided. Overall opinion: Next time I would either go for one of the cheaper models (because I don't really need all of the fancy features) or spend more and get a higher quality machine. I'll use this one because it's too much of an inconvenience to return and find another and it's okay - but nothing that knocked my socks off.

Although I have not had the machine long enough to do a great deal of sewing on it, what I have done has made me pleased with my purchase. At an advanced age, I really appreciate the needle threader! Coming from a 40 year old Viking that weighed a ton, I appreciate the lightness of the machine, however I also feel it would not stand up to usage for a really serious sewer or quilter, neither of which I am. For the use I intend the machine for, it is perfect.

The machine arrived in a timely manner, and meets all my sewing needs. So far I have hand no problems with it and frankly I love it. It's quiet and does things that make sewing much easier. I would reccommend this product.

The Brother BC1000 is a great machine. I've seen it in stores for a lot more and really feel that I got a great value. The machine is easy to use. One piece was missing and I contacted the sender and received the piece right away with no hassles. I love it!!

The product arrived quickly but actual sewing on this machine was not as I had hoped. The quality of the stitching was fair at best. The instructional DVD was not included int he box but the book that comes with the machine was easy to understand. This machine is a good beginner machine but lacks the quality to do serious sewing.

My wife is really enjoying this new sewing machine. She says that it is very easy to use and loves that it is light weight and she can easily take it to and from quilt meetings. She feels that it does everything she needs it to do for everyday sewing. This is our first purchase but won't be our last.

It works very well, and if I ever do anything wrong, the error message tells me exactly what I did and how to fix it. I haven't had a problem operating the machine yet. The different stitches are clear and tell you exactly what foot you need, it shows you how to adjust string tensions, and the built in storage works very well for all of the spare parts. Overall it's a great machine

Great machine. I bought it to take in my RV for my quilt projects while on camping trips. It is just the perfect size and weight. All of the accessories from my big machine fit, so that I didn't have to buy any other special ones. I looked at a light weight machine at our local quilt shop and the most simple machine--no bells and whistles--was more than $200! I have only had it a few weeks, so I can not vouch for long term durability, but have recommended this machine to several of the ladies in my quilting group.

I have always wanted to sew and make my own clothes. After several failed attemps and failed sewing machines, I finally made my first dress. This was the EASIEST machine to learn on. Its computerized so it limits complications in the begining and sews perfectly. Watch out Prada! Here I come!

This was a replacement for a 5 year old Singer. Much more user friendly instructionally and mechanically. HOWEVER, the bobbin case is a little loose so it slides on rare occasion and in turn jams the machine... I've broke a sewing needle within the first week whereas my old machine lasted MUCH longer. It's a good deal for the price, but I would recommend spending just a little extra for that little extra quality.

THIS MACHINE IS AMAZING COME WITH A PLASTIC TABLE COVER AND ALL THE ACCESSORIES, IS REALLY REALLY GOOD IS MY SECOND MACHINE AN IS MUCH BETTER THAN SINGER. SO SIMPLE SO GOOD... I LOVE IT!
