I looked everywhere for a christening gown for my son. Everything was either very frilly and much like a minuture wedding dress or it was a suit that just looked plain silly on an infant. I have to say I was really surprised to find this fab gown on Overstock. I didn't think this was the kind of thing they offered, but I was desperate after shopping for months at every church supply, department, and internet store I could find. Either their selection was horrible or the size I needed wasn't offered (my son is very tall for his age and we needed a 12mo size for a 3 mo old!). The quality is excellent. The cotton is so soft and the lace detail lovely without being girly. It could easily be used by either a son or daughter. It washed easily in the machine and ironed well. I did not put it in the drier as I was affraid that, having gone through so much trouble to find one that fit, it might shrink before his big day. But if you're not worried about that, go ahead. It came without the bonnet, but customer service was GREAT and got one to me in 2 days, in plenty of time for the christening. BIG THANKS TO THEM! If you need a simple, but elegant gown for a son or daughter, the quality and price can't be beat on this gown.

I was so pleased with this Christening gown; it was exactly what I had been searching for! I wanted something classic and simple, not frilly or satiny, and this really fit the bill. It has just the right amount of embellishment. The cotton lace is soft, not at all scratchy, and it ironed up beautifully. I found the gown to run big. I ordered the 3 month size for my baby girl, she is around 11 pounds. The gown does have a tie in the back, so you can tighten it up a bit. The bonnet is adorable and has the same lace trim as the gown, it was beautiful, but she refused to wear it! The booties are so huge, I can¿t imagine any 3 month old baby having feet that size! I just picked up a pair of white socks with lace trim and it worked fine. Since the gown does not come with panties, I just layered a plain white Onesie underneath. If you are in the market for a classic cotton Christening gown, do some comparison shopping on the web and you will see you can¿t beat this one! You will not find a gown of this quality, at this price, anywhere else!

I was looking for a simple, traditional, cotton christening gown for my baby girl, and was having a hard time finding something that didn't look like an over-the-top miniature wedding gown. This one is nearly perfect. It is 100% cotton, has substantial thickness, a slip layer, and is very soft. It feels like good quality sheets, and is not at all see-through, like some other cotton gowns I found. The style is very simple and classic, and would be appropriate for a girl or boy. The only thing that could make this gown better is if it was a few inches longer. My baby is 3 1/2 months old and is in the 90th percentile for length. I bought the 3-6month size, and the gown still covers her feet, but I'd like it even more if it had a bit more length.

This christening gown is absolutely adorable. I looked everywhere for something not shiny and covered in lace - but that was fit for our little princess and found it in this cotton gown. It is simple yet elegant. The bonnet size runs large but the booties and gown run true to size.

A very cute christening dress I bought for my grandson. Did not want him to wear a "suit" and this dress is perfect. Not too girlish , has just the right amount of lace for a baby boy.
