I saw this "satchel" and thought this was perfect, exactly what I had been looking for. Wong!! It was a purse like my grandmother would have used. Ok, I carry my checkbook ledger in a 1" binder that obviously can't fit into a purse along with other various items needed on a daily basis for work and home. I began using the "satchel" anyway. After a week, I noticed that the back straps were starting to come unsewn from the bag itself. By December 14, 2007 one side of the strap had completely torn away from the bag and the other side merely hung on by a thread--it now sits in my closet to be lost forever. You ask, "Would you recommend this item to someone else?'' No, I wouldn't. Would I like a replacement in hopes of it lasting more than three weeks; yes I would.

great design but poorly manufactured. handle ripped after just two days. lightweight contents. saftey pin holding handle in place.

Looks good. It isn't foldover though as described in the ad and the over the shoulder straps came off after two weeks -- I've already taken it to the shoemaker to reattach them.
