Olympia Rolling Backpack

I purchased (3) of these backpacks for my children ages 10,9 and 7. I was thrilled with the backpacks when they arrived as they looked great and had the inline wheels. About 2 months into school, my 7yr old's handle would not open up and down easily. You had to put your finger on the button to push the handle all the way down. We have both had several pinched fingers from this, not fun for a first grader! Otherwise, his backpack held up fairly well. My 9yr old son's backpack did not fair as well. About 2 months into ownership, the corners had holes in them where some of the interior wire had poked thru. In February, the bottom of the backpack, in between the wheels and the front legs, broke completely in half so the back pack no longer stands. And I can say it was NEVER overloaded with books to cause this to happen. My 10 yr old daughter's backpack had lasted reasonably well, however by Christmas the bottom of the backpack broke in the same place as my son's, in between the back wheels and the front. Her backpack has not been able to stand upgright for months. I was happy to see the limited 10 year warranty and am in contact with the company to see what can be done. I am sure like most limited warranties that the issues my backpacks have, will not be covered. In the meantime, I am looking at other backpacks for next year. My daughter will be in middle school and will need some VERY durable to go up and down stairs as well as hold all the books needed for middle school homework! If you are looking for a good wheeling backpack for an elementary school student who does not bring home many books, this is a good choice for the price. You could get a few years usage. But don't expect it to last if you need something more durable or carrying a lot of books..

I DIDN'T LIKE THE WAY IT WAS DESIGN INSIDE. IT NEEDED EXTRA POCKTS ON THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. WHEELS VERY STRONG, THINK AND EASY ROLLING AND MATERIAL ITSELF SEEMS "KID" READY.

MY 1ST GRADER HAS GONE THROUGH 3 BACKPACKS. I STUMBLED UPON THIS ONE AND CONSIDERED BECAUSE OF PRICE AND OTHER COMMENTS. I THOUGHT AT THE TIME IT WAS A STEAL. NOW I REALIZE THAT IT WASNT. THE HANDLE FOR THE WHEELS HAS COME OUT OF ITS PLACE WITHIN 2 WEEKS. I WAS HOPING TO USE THIS ON A TRIP COMING UP BUT DONT THINK IT WILL MAKE IT. ALL IN ALL IF U TAKE OFF THE WHEELS U CAN USE IT AS A REGULAR BACKPACK BAG. IT IS BIG ENOUGH FOR ALL KINDS OF STUFF. WAS ONLY ABLE TO GET THE GREEN ONE, THE GREEN IS VERY DARK. MAYBE I WOULD PRUCHASE AGIAN, NOT SURE DEPENDS ON WHAT FOR.:)

I've only used it once, but it held up, and was easy to handle. I like that you can tuck the straps in, and it has lots of pockets for easy storage. We'll see how it does on a 2 week trip to Greece in July!
