Does it have a hood? Is it detachable? Thanks
I'd been looking for a full-length, hooded, puffy black coat that didn't make me look like a planet -- this is the closest one I found that fit the bill. Pros: This coat keeps me warm and toasty -- priority #1. The material has a nice soft sheen, not too shiny or plasticky. I shopped around and did some research, and the price was very good for this type of coat, and a Via Spiga at that. The fit is pretty good overall. The belt is wide enough and sturdily constructed such that it ties and unties in a snap, and I like that it's sewn on. I'm 5'5" and the hem hits about halfway down my shins -- just the right length to not get mucky or caught on things, as well as to give me easy access to get my boots/shoes on and off (and show them off, too!). Cons: When zipped up, my chest area looks a little bit domed and squashed -- like I have a much larger chest than I do that's flattened by the coat. I've ameliorated this with some artful scarf draping. The zipper occasionally gets caught on the thin strips of fabric that run alongside it (though this is a common issue with any coat). I wish the hood had some sort of fastener -- there's no button or drawstring, so gravity inevitably kicks in, especially with this sort of material. Lastly, while the overall fit is good and slimmer than that of other similar coats I tried, I wish it were just a little slimmer-fitting (while retaining its warmth and comfort). All told, this was another great find from Overstock -- it's an excellent coat....

I bought this coat for very cold weather, as I am going to be taking a trip this fall to New England, and it can be very cold. I tried it on immediately, and it felt warm and wonderful. I knew I had purchased the right coat. I boufht it in a large, even though I usually wear a medium as I like ot wear a bulky sweater under my coats. I am one that likes to stay warm. I love the cold weather, but only if it iw warm. It is light weight, warm, and looks great. Also Overstock is a great place to shop. The items I have purchased are the best, at lower prices than I would find anywhere else. I will return again to purchase more from Overstock. I rarely do shopping in my hometown, but purchase on the internet. Overstock is definitely one place I will purchase items again and again. Thank you for your great service and bargains RaynaRead More
Great coat. Love the fact that is more feminine than most. The drawn in waist and the fact that it is not too bulky gives a much more streamlined appearance. The lustrous fabric gives it a more dressed look and is not over the top. The zips at the hem allow for greater stride in your step which is great. The only down side is that the hood is not detachable and the sizing if you have a generous bust is tight, so pays to order a size up!Read More
loved the color and had friends that paid regular price for this coat. i was disappointed with the way it fit though. it was snug along the back and shoulders and i was only wearing a thin shirt. it's fitted already and found the belt not necessary. also the shape is like a bell and comes out a bit wide. i'm keeping it because i like the shiny fabric, it's keeping me warm and the price is right. oh and the neck is open, the zipper stops at the collar bone. so i have to wear a scarf.Read More
Well, I was in love with this coat the minute I took it out of the box. I am 5'7", 128 lbs. and have a large bust. I ordered a size small. It is sort of snug around the chest, so I advise if you wear a medium shirt, you may be more comfortable in a medium. I've grown to like the snug fit because it helps keep me warmer in the outdoors. I'm not thrilled with the hood, it is not fitted and a lot of air escapes so you must wear a scarf (not like my north face). The pockets are lined very delicately with one layer of satin, so don't place keys with a heavy key chain in them or they will tear. The zipper is a problem because the fabric 80% of the time will get stuck and you have to play around with it and wiggle it until it frees up. If you are mindful of the pockets, careful with the zipper and wear a scarf in 20 degrees weather you will absolutely love this elegant coat. I feel amazing when I reach for it in my closet. I feel pretty and attractive when I am out wearing it and the snug fit allows me to be comfortable and very, very warm. I am tempted to get the chocolate colored one, I have it in black, this is such an attractive coat don't pass on this opportunity to own one, or two!Read More
This was even better in person than I would have expected, but if you're busty and don't have the skinny model arms then buy a size up.Read More
This is a really beautiful coat! It"s form fitting so it shows off your curves and yet a very great coat in any weather giving great protection with the not too tight hood and longer lenghth in the coat. It has a beautiful satin appearance and also is machine washable. Who could ask for more in a winter coat?Read More

Best Skirts for the Office
It is important to find a comfortable skirt to wear to the office that is appropriate yet stylish. Skirts are a staple of any wardrobe; they are also one of the most versatile pieces of clothing and can be worn with sweaters, blouses or jackets. Depending on your office dress code, conservative or casual styles may be appropriate, so choose styles and colors that fit into your existing wardrobe. Wear long skirts for cooler weather. While the most popular women's skirts are hemmed around the knee, cold winter months are a great time to wear longer skirts. Formal long skirts, especially those made of silk or velvet fabric, are probably out of place in the office. Stick to cotton, twill or even wool fabrics for a professional look. Ruffles and pleats can also give long skirts a feminine touch. A-line skirts are the best shape for most women because they create a waistline and widen at the hem, balancing out larger hips. Select flattering skirt sets. To ensure your skirt looks as professional as possible for the office, find a skirt set with an accompanying jacket. You can pair the skirt set with any type blouse, including silk, cotton or polyester. For a clean look, wear a skirt and jacket with a blouse that easily tucks in and does not create a bulge or pull around the skirt waist. You can also pair women's skirts with separate jackets if you want to mix up the wardrobe. Choose a slimming pencil skirt. One of the most common and fashionable skirts to wear is the pencil skirt. It pairs nicely with a variety of blouses, sweaters and jackets, making it a versatile part of the wardrobe. The pencil skirt is flattering to all body types, from very thin to curvaceous women. The skirt's silhouette is straight at the waist and narrows at the knees, allowing it to hug all of the curves of the body. Look for a pencil skirt that has a slit or pleat in the back near the hem to allow for increased movement while walking. Find an appropriate casual skirt. Casual skirts can be professional and dressy enough to wear to work. For the office, look for skirts made of cotton, khaki material, linen or even wool to provide a comfortable option. Keep casual skirts mid-length, allowing them to fall either slightly above or below the knee cap. View All Skirts Back to Guides Directory View All Skirts
