The suit looked differently than pictured; while the material was not that bad, but the Jacket was 2 sizes smaller than indicated. Years ago it was so easy to find a great and inexpensive suit at Overstock.com; however, now it’s almost impossible to find one. In addition, Overstock has a very limited selection of suits to choose fron; I just wished there were many more different colors and style available.
This was the first time I purchased a suit online. Not long ago I purchased two Caravelli suits locally, and really liked them. When I saw this dark blue tonal suit by Caravelli online, I thought it would make a great addition. Received it rather quickly, the color, material, and design are very striking. I am 6’3, 209 lbs, with somewhat broad shoulders. The pants fit perfectly, with unhemmed bottoms, as noted. The jacket fit very nicely, but was noticeable short.
Prior to purchasing the suit, I read the Overstock “Men’s Suits Buying Guide”. I was careful to stay away from any suites labeled Slim-fit. Although Slim-fit suits are normally more stylish, they tend to have shorter jackets. The jacket for this suit is approximately one to one and a half inches shorter than the Caravelli suites I own. The bottom line is, I think it’s a great looking suit, priced very attractively but, the design of the jacket is more like a Slim-fit, than classic fit.
I will say that this product in no way is a slim fitting suit, it is a traditional fit. I was a little disappointed when I got it and tried it on because I know when I searched on overstock I searched slim fit and it showed up. Anywho it is still a great value and pretty good quality for what you're paying.
1)My measurements are:
With my measurements what should be the right size for me?
2)Can anyone clarify what does the alphabet behind the number represents?
E.g 40S/34, 42R/36, 40L/34
Thanks in advance
Hello benasd95, We actually have a sizing guide in the product description area. This should help you with sizing and so forth! Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns! Happy Tuesday!
I wear suit 42R and waist 34 with 34 inseam. I've been trying to buy suit off the website with no success as i can't find this combination. When i see 42R the corresponding waist is 36 which is 2ins too big for me. What can i do to get my actual size?
its called a drop, the difference in inches between the chest and waist, you're looking at fairly conservative drops made for people that have less of a V shape. Look for slimmer suits and they will have a better drop. You can tailor 2 inches though...
You'll have to buy "suit separates". Standard suits have a 6-inch "drop" (difference between chest and waist sizes), and some slim fit suits have a 7-inch drop. You could always buy one with a 7-inch drop and get a tailor to take in the waist, but it's not that hard to find separates.
