I, like so many others here, ordered a bunch of suits here for the first time, as a sort of experimental journey into the world of online suit-buying. Some suits I kept, some I sent back. This one I sent back.
First, it is all polyester, a definite turnoff to me (of course, I knew it would be 100% poly when I ordered it, but I was reserving judgment until I saw the finished product in person). Not a bad color, and a bit lighter than depicted in the photo. Next, it didn't have a center vent or side vents on the back of the jacket, which makes for a more constricted feel. The biggest deal to me was that it was a 3-button suit (also known to me beforehand). I didn't realize when ordering that 3-button suits are a whole world into themselves. Knowledgeable people seem to agree that they are best left for those over 6 feet tall, because of how they frame your body. Also, the general consensus is that you should button the top 3 buttons of a 3-button suit, which creates a more formal look than I like to be seen in. (BTW, I actually kept at least one of the 3-button suits that I bought here.)
But the deciding factor was that the suit jacket, supposedly a "regular" in length, extended beyond the knuckles of my hands in length, which is my understanding of the proper length of a man's suit. I may be wrong about this because, I got a few other 3-button numbers here in the same ordering spree and they too were longer than I thought they should be (and I returned them as well). In my mind, even if these suits are supposed to longer, I just didn't want them. (The one 3-button suit that I kept was the only one that went only to my knuckles.)
Another way to look at whether to get this polyester suit is, the price of this suit is not that much less than some of the "wool/silk" suits offered on this same site (i.e., 91% wool, 9% silk). So, for a few extra bucks you can get something that feels and looks so much better that this polyester that I would liken to burlap.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Suit is a tad lighter than photo
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Not great, not terrible
Wow! this suit is very beautiful and if you're looking for a tan like suit, this will be the your best choice, because the color is little bit deceiving on the website. Besides that, I love it and for the price, you can't beat it. The texture and quality of this suit is very good. I'll definately buy from overstock again.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? It's on the dark side
