Normally I wear a size 14 but knowing evening gows sometimes run small I originally ordered and XL. It was 8 inches from zipping. I then ordered a 2X and it is 5 inches from zipping. Perhaps if you are4 a size 2 you could zip the XL. Otherwise, don't bother.
The quality of this dress was good but the size was misleading. I order clothing on-line all the time and am familiar with sizes. I know that XL works well with my figure. I'm tall but not into Womens Sizes. However, "XL" at Overstock.com appears to mean "Size 14" (or smaller), at least for this dress. Perhaps I can find one my slimmer friends to give this dress to; I certainly cannot wear it. It's not a matter of losing fat; my ribcage just won't fit in the dress and yet it fits other manufacturers' definition of "XL".
