Rothschild Girls' Wool Trench Coat (Size 7-16)

We've bought Rothschild coats since my oldest daughter was 2. We've bought used, new from major stores, and from Overstock. They hold up very well. Sizing is generous and we can often stretch them to two years of wearing or at least overlap years. I have two girls two years apart and they both wear these coats so we generally get 2-5 years out of a coat. But when we are done, they still look brand new. I go for the 60-100% wool and they retain their shape, the detailing (cutouts,bows, ribbons, trim, buttons, capes, etc.) holds up to years of wear. We use them at least once a week from November to April. I bought this one for next year and another in blue for the following year. The price was too great to pass up. This coat has a great rich red color, no orange cast to it at all. The buttons are bright silver, and well sewn. Trench style is a little more work for the kids to get off and on, but it looks very stylish when my tall 10 year old tries it on. There is only one inside button which makes it easier for the kids to put on than 4 inside buttons, but it still should hold the inside flap of the trench in place. Overstock has outstanding prices on these. You can look at on-line auctions and find used ones for nearly the same price or in major stores for 3-4 times the cost of Overstock. Lovely dress coat and very warm. We love the longer lengths that help cover legs when we are feeling the blasts of winter.

• How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Beautiful, Rich, Brilliant Red. No orange cast. Bright silver buttons.
• Please tell us about the quality of the product. Very good material, well made. Seams are not as well finished as other Rothschilds we have but are smooth. We would buy again.
• How accurate was the sizing? We bought for next year when she is 11. She is tall and the size 14 will fit her when she is 11-12. Size is accurate, my girls are just tall.
