I purchased these shoes for my son--who was in a car accident in 2007 and serverly injured his foot and ankle. After 3 surgeries and having steel plates with pins and screws he is still in pain everyday. Now after wearing these shoes, he says his foot is more stable with walking and the pain has also gotten better. I am sure we will be purchasing another pair in the near future.

I bought these shoes because I have diabetic neuropathy and extreme pain from a developing bunion on my right foot. Not only are they comfortable, but I have ZERO pain in my feet! I have a closet full of shoes that I can't wear that attest to the fact that I have problem feet, and finding shoes that don't hurt is a miracle! I can walk endlessly (tested them out doing Christmas Shopping) and no pain. I find they a little "clodhopperish" but at this stage in my life, I don't care one bit! I love them. They don't hurt my feet and that is worth a lot. I also like the fact that they come in wide widths. That helps a lot. They require no break-in time--soft leather and comfy insoles that are soft and cushioned. I hope they come in more colors someday (like brown or tan or gray), and then I will get some more pairs. They feel nice and stable too--the rocker-bottom style sole keeps my toes from bending and that keeps strain off those joints and toes that are painful. I am sure there is a technical explanation for what they do, but all I know is that they are comfy and that is wonderful.
