I bought these shoes to wear to a dinner party. They are absolutely beautiful. It is suggested that you order one size down from your size because they run big. I did not find this to be so. I wear a 10W. I can also wear a 9 1/2. I ordered the size 9, as per the instructions. The size 9 does cover the bottom of my foot but with no "breathing room." I brought them to the shoemaker to have the width stretched. If I were to buy these shoes again, I would NOT order one size down. I would order my regular size. As I said, these shoes are beautiful. They are well worth the price. I have other shoes made in Europe. I bought them from another company. I have always ordered my American Size (9 1/2 - 10)and have had no problem.
