I had been looking for a London Fog long raincoat with hood for a long time (to replace one I had years ago.) I was thrilled when I found this on overstock for a great price. In stores this would cost $240+, perhaps more. I was surprised that the material was like microfiber and much lighter weight than expected--however this does not make the coat less warm (somehow.) Also it comes with a faux-wool (polyester) lining that makes it suitable for colder fall weather. The hood has drawstrings which is helpful in keeping the hood on in wind. I would say if you are wondering what size to get- go with one size larger if you plan to wear with the inner lining as it can be a bit snug. Though I would have preferred a twill or wool material and I would still purchase an additional hooded dressy raincoat should I find one that is made of natural materials as used to be the norm for London Fog, these natural fiber coats are difficult to find (and expensive). That said I am happy with this purchase and the coat serves well as a dress rain coat (the black makes it formal looking I think=though the accents are silver and causal style, the buttons are large flat black buttons) -very water resistant and warm.
I was very excited to receive this coat. I've been hunting for a nice rain coat; this one fits the bill. It also allowes me to wear it on those earily spring and late fall days, as it has a light flannel lining (that that may be removed or zipped in) :-). The quality of the coat is exceptonal and I can honestly say it's perfect in it's construction and workmanship.
I love this trench coat! I wanted a single-breatsed style and princess-style seams. It's definitely more slimming. I like the toffee color. The hood can be unbuttoned off. (I would usually leave it off unless I was going to be out in a steady rain.) There is a light-weight lining that can be zipped in or out. The coat is long enough for all but ankle-length dresses and skirts. London Fog quality and Overstock prices -can't beat it!
