Just Enough for the Rain

HandbagLady from Paris, France, Apr 16, 2008

Positives and comments: Water resistant, fits true to size, casual and formal, adjustable/ detachable hood, front storm flap with zipper, buttons sewn on correctly, hits me at the knees and I'm 5'5", Medium fits me well and I'm 36-28-36, sleeves are normal length, and it looks slimming. Negatives: The lining attracts pet hair (static guard helps), pull-cord on hood looks a bit like middle school: simply too long and drab (they could've made a shorter version with elastics), buttons are of low quality and the edges of which the thread is sewn through are sharp: this is why the thread breaks off of them, with constant friction... I could imagine what happens when you put it in the wash (I plan to replace the buttons with better ones), when i zip up the storm flap (the thing that looks like a turtleneck underneath) it is a tad bit tight at the neck, and I wouldn't say that the coat is stylish in the a la mode sense, but it should take you through many years of neutral fashion.

buttons fell with first use

trenchcoatbuyer from new york, ny, Apr 10, 2008

This is my second purchase of a London Fog trench coat with overstock.com. I returned the first one due to the same problem (buttons fell off). With this one, the buttons fell but I re-attached them myself since I needed the coat for a trip. The style and material of the coat are good but the craftmanship is poor. The inner pockets also became unsewn pretty quickly.

Lovely, stylish rain coat!

Amoret from Sierra Nevada foothills of CA, Jan 25, 2008

This coat has a microfiber look and feel to its outer layer and is extremely wrinkle resistant. I was in and out of my car all day long (on a very rainy day), without producing any wrinkles. The coat is also very stylish looking. Dressy enough for business or evening outings, but still suitable for casual wear as well. The length was perfect for me, falling just to the knees (I am 5'4"). This length gives me the extra protection and warmth I wanted, without affecting my stride; making it easy to move in. The coat has just enough lining to help keep you warm, yet it is NOT bulky or restrictive. There is an inner storm flap on the torso portion only, allowing for easy zip-up and extra insulation. Buttons are reinforced with opposing smaller buttons; a very much appreciated feature on coats. Side seam pockets are nicely placed and keep to the overall streamlined, clean look of the coat. I would have liked to have 1 or 2 internal pockets.

London Fog Trenchcoat With Lining

nat1234 from Madison, Tennessee, Jan 16, 2008

I absolutely love this coat. It fits beautifully. Other reviews stated problems with the buttons. Undoubtedly London Fog must have fixed that problem because I have no problems with the buttons being loose or coming off. I would love to have one in another color. My co-workers want to order one.

worked for me

Joie1 from california, Jan 6, 2008

I am very pleased with this purchase. The only slight problem was that the buttons all fell off on about the third wearing. This occurred in spite of the fact that the extra button on the reverse side which is suppose to help hold the outer one on, was still tightly attached. strange surprise.
