Coat of My Dreams
 from Florida,  Nov 9, 2007

This is exactly the coat that I have been looking for (at a good price) for the last 3 years. I have a wonderful London Fog raincoat that is about 15 years and is still in perfect condition, but it's red. There are many times (especially funerals) where a black coat is needed and this is perfect. Another advantage that this coat has over the older one is the length. For those of us who are in and out of cars and wear slacks most of the time this length is just right I would highly recommend this coat to those up north for mid-seasons and for those in Florida, like me, for Winter.

Just Enough for the Rain
from Paris, France,  Apr 16, 2008

Positives and comments: Water resistant, fits true to size, casual and formal, adjustable/ detachable hood, front storm flap with zipper, buttons sewn on correctly, hits me at the knees and I'm 5'5", Medium fits me well and I'm 36-28-36, sleeves are normal length, and it looks slimming. Negatives: The lining attracts pet hair (static guard helps), pull-cord on hood looks a bit like middle school: simply too long and drab (they could've made a shorter version with elastics), buttons are of low quality and the edges of which the thread is sewn through are sharp: this is why the thread breaks off of them, with constant friction... I could imagine what happens when you put it in the wash (I plan to replace the buttons with better ones), when i zip up the storm flap (the thing that looks like a turtleneck underneath) it is a tad bit tight at the neck, and I wouldn't say that the coat is stylish in the a la mode sense, but it should take you through many years of neutral fashion.

Lovely, stylish rain coat!
from Sierra Nevada foothills of CA,  Jan 25, 2008

This coat has a microfiber look and feel to its outer layer and is extremely wrinkle resistant. I was in and out of my car all day long (on a very rainy day), without producing any wrinkles. The coat is also very stylish looking. Dressy enough for business or evening outings, but still suitable for casual wear as well. The length was perfect for me, falling just to the knees (I am 5'4"). This length gives me the extra protection and warmth I wanted, without affecting my stride; making it easy to move in. The coat has just enough lining to help keep you warm, yet it is NOT bulky or restrictive. There is an inner storm flap on the torso portion only, allowing for easy zip-up and extra insulation. Buttons are reinforced with opposing smaller buttons; a very much appreciated feature on coats. Side seam pockets are nicely placed and keep to the overall streamlined, clean look of the coat. I would have liked to have 1 or 2 internal pockets.

buttons fell with first use
from new york, ny,  Apr 10, 2008

This is my second purchase of a London Fog trench coat with overstock.com. I returned the first one due to the same problem (buttons fell off). With this one, the buttons fell but I re-attached them myself since I needed the coat for a trip. The style and material of the coat are good but the craftmanship is poor. The inner pockets also became unsewn pretty quickly.

London Fog Trenchcoat With Lining
from Madison, Tennessee,  Jan 16, 2008

I absolutely love this coat. It fits beautifully. Other reviews stated problems with the buttons. Undoubtedly London Fog must have fixed that problem because I have no problems with the buttons being loose or coming off. I would love to have one in another color. My co-workers want to order one.

worked for me
 from california,  Jan 6, 2008

I am very pleased with this purchase. The only slight problem was that the buttons all fell off on about the third wearing. This occurred in spite of the fact that the extra button on the reverse side which is suppose to help hold the outer one on, was still tightly attached. strange surprise.

Doesn't have a "real" lining.
 from Michigan,  Dec 26, 2007

I guess it never said it had a removable lining, but that is what I expected when I read "trench coat with lining". I thought it would be warmer than a spring coat & it's not.

Can't recommend
from Little Rock, AR,  Nov 27, 2007

Coat has a nice appearance and is comfortable to wear. However, wore 1 time and then washed. Says Machine Washable. 5 buttons came off and the others were loose. Also, wrinkled. Unhappy with the purchase.

Great Price & Quality
from Dumas, TX,  Nov 19, 2007

I purchased this coat as a gift for my wife, and she loves it! The quality for the price is outstandting! The only draw back was the sizing - I could have made a mistake too - but I ordered two sizes up so that she could use it as an overcoat, but it fit only slightly loose. Again, still feels, wears and looks great and is an excellent bargin! If you want a nice business/evening coat, this is it!

poor quality
from Madison, WI,  Nov 17, 2007

I did really like the look of it and it's really comfortable. Also waterproof which is a huge plus! Only thing is, all the buttons feel off within one week. I think the jacket as a whole was really nice quality they must have just forgot to sew the buttons on which is frustrating.
