I don't normally write reviews but I was so impressed with this coat I had to write.I just received it in the mail today and couldn't wait to try it on. The fit was great, just a little shaping high on the waist to give you a nice shape, yet still comfortable. I got the dark charcoal color, a really nice dark grey. It is a neutral color that will go with anything.The quality was great, really nice fabric, lining and workmanship. It looks like a really high quality coat. I have been looking in the department stores at $200 coats that weren't as nice as this one. I am really happy I found this one in my google search for "empire waist coat", it was just what I was looking for.

I have paid twice as much for coats of this quality. The detail in the stitching adds style, the fabric is soft and looks very expensive. I love, love, love this coat. I bought it in black, but will probably purchase the red one also. This is truly a beautiful coat that will last season after season. It can be worn with anything, even jeans. I am so happy with this purchase.

I have been searching for a nice coat for the longest time! I love it! I like the buttons too and its soooo light, but warm!

I am 6 feet tall and have a hard time finding a coat that fits me through the torso well; coats often hit me too high, even though I don't have a long torso in proportion to the rest of my body. A size 16 (the size I ordered to fit sweaters underneath) is made for someone who is usually 5' 8" or perhaps shorter. The Levine coats are longer through the torso than many other styles, and this one was also longer.The coat is high quality wool and looks very nice. My only complaint is that it is just a tiny bit short in the sleeves (and it's probably only perceptible to me). Otherwise, I really like it and feel dressed up when I need it for business travel. It is as warm as most other wool coats I have owned--nice that it covers the bum in cold weather.

i recently lost 4 dress sizes and have had to replace my entire wardrobe. i purchased this coat , partly due to the great reviews it had gotten. now i would like to add my own to the mix. this coat is everything it claims to be. i ordered it in black and look forward to many years of wear out of it, since it is a very classic style. it is luxurious, light weight, well tailored, and the sleeves and length are perfect (i am 5'7" tall) also, the lining is not flimsy. i would heartily recommend this coat to anyone. i cant wait for the cold weather to come again, so i can look stylish and elegant!!

The coat is very lovely with regard to physical appearance and material feel; however, I ordered my normal, absolutely every-day size, size 6, and the sleeves were a bit short and narrow. It made the coat a bit uncomfortable. It also resulted in tightness in the shoulder area. I was forced to return the item. Now I am a bit wary to order another coat online.

Although I think the coat is beautiful, I have to have the sleeves shortened at least an inch. I ordered a size 8, which fits fine, but can't understand why the sleeves are so long!

The coat came only a few days after I ordered it and in time for Christmas. It was more than I hoped it would be with color, size and fit. My daughter was very pleased when she opened it Christmas morning.

This is a nice coat. Not as soft as I had hoped but you don't have to wear a scarf as with some cheap wool coats. I ordered one size larger and the arms and shoulders fit fine. The rest is a bit roomy but I need it to fit up top. The charcoal is nice color and its a bargain at this price.

This coat is classic styling, great fabric and just the right length. I would have liked the chest area of the coat to be a little larger as it is a little uncomfortable wearing a sweater under it.

size was an issue..need to order smaller than usual..excellent quality and value

I loved the coat the minute I opened the box. The feel was fabulous, the fit was perfect. I receive compliments every time I wear it. I like that the buttons are securely attached with an anchor button on the inside. I like the stitching on the sleeves and the lay of the collar. In our sub zero weather the past week it was warm and comfortable. I just can't say enough good things about this coat.

It looks like a $200.00 dress coat. You might need to sew on the buttons tighter.

Larry Levine Women's Classic Wool Notch Collar Walker coat fits me very well. I ordered the petite size 10 and it is the perfect length and fit for my size (5'2 120#s ). I like is so much I would be tempted to order it in another color too...but I don't need two! Thanks Overstock~!

I love this coat, I couldn't find anything shopping and it's great. It's a nice weight for fall/winter.

I bought this coat after reading all the great reviews. It is good quality, very comfortable and warm. The only thing I don't love about it is that it doesn't have a button at the very top that buttons around the neck. I think I'm going to take it to a tailor and have them put a hole and button in. I'm sure it's find with a scarf, too, but in the really cold weather I like being able to button it.Everything else is great though - If it had the button it would be a 5 star!

I read a few positive reviews of this coat before buying it, and I agree with them-- I was very impressed with the quality and sizing at this price! I've worn it several times already. I've discovered two things, not bad but simply things I need to take into account. The collar does not button up to the neck, so if it's really cold out I have to make sure to wear a thick scarf that covers my neck. Also, the fit is so good that I can't fit really bulky layers under it; the shoulders of my boiled wool jacket just barely fit. But I love the length, the color (charcoal), and the quality of the cloth-- I will wear this coat for many winters, especially when I want to look nice!

I am petite so it's very difficult to buy clothes. This coat is just perfect!

The fabric and construction are both great. Lightweight and a good layering piece.

Terrific coat for California, warm but not too heavy. The price was incredible -- a major department store was selling the same coat and its sale price was 50% more than Overstock.
