What material is it made of? genuine wool?
Having always picked black coats, I was going out of my "comfort zone" on this coat. I loved how the plaids matched on either side of the buttons; always do on a well-made plaid. When I got it and put it on, I still was a little "on the fence" about wearing other than solid black. But I did like it; it's well- made, comfortable and warm. The "empire" waist is hardly noticable; the fabric drapes beautifully in an A-line! It's VERY flattering!! Then, I wore it and went to see what my husband's reaction would be. Well...his eyes popped! and his first words were "WOW!!! THAT'S BEAUTIFUL!!" Whenever I wear it shopping, I get at least one person complimenting me and asking where I got it! IT IS TOTALLY WORTH BUYING!!! I'm SO glad I did!...

Although I really like this coat, I gave it a rating of "Good" because I'm short and I normally wear longer coats. I got it at an excellent price and hopefully more coats will go on sale before spring.Read More
This is a very nice coat. I like that it is a plaid. The color mix is nice (eggplant, gray, black and cream). It is often very hard to find coats in anything but black in petite sizes. This coat is an A-Line cut so it isn't straight and tight. You can fit a bulky winter sweater underneath. The collar also comes up high and buttons if you like to wear it that way, but can also be left open. I bought the size 2 petite and it fits perfectly with no alterations needed even in the sleeve length. This coat is not very heavy, but it is good for days that are not really cold.Read More

Ruffles and pleats can also give long skirts a feminine touch. A-line skirts are the best shape for most women because they create a waistline and widen at the hem, balancing out larger hips. Select flattering skirt sets. To ensure your skirt looks as professional as possible for the office, find a skirt set with an accompanying jacket. You can pair the skirt set with any type blouse, including silk, cotton or polyester. For a clean look, wear a skirt and jacket with a blouse that easily tucks in and does not create a bulge or pull around the skirt waist. You can also pair women's skirts with separate jackets if you want to mix up the wardrobe. Choose a slimming pencil skirt. One of the most common and fashionable skirts to wear is the pencil skirt. It pairs nicely with a variety of blouses, sweaters and jackets, making it a versatile part of the wardrobe. The pencil skirt is flattering to all body types, from very thin to curvaceous women. The skirt's silhouette is straight at the waist and narrows at the knees, allowing it to hug all of the curves of the body. Look for a pencil skirt that has a slit or pleat in the back near the hem to allow for increased movement while walking. Find an appropriate casual skirt. Casual skirts can be professional and dressy enough to wear to work. For the office, look for skirts made of cotton, khaki material, linen or even wool to provide a comfortable option. Keep casual skirts mid-length, allowing them to fall either slightly above or below the knee cap. View All Skirts Back to Guides Directory View All Skirts
