Story Behind the Art:
Peruvian artisan Isidoro C'cahuantico was forced to migrate in the 1970s when terrorist activities swept his region. 'I found a job as janitor in a textile factory. I was completely fascinated!' he says. 'At night, when everyone had gone, I began to experiment with the looms. The manager caught me and said I should start by learning how to assemble a loom. That was the beginning of a vocation, a great gift that I have now also passed on to my children.'
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.

I've very pleased with this poncho, except for one thing. I would prefer that the scarf NOT BE ATTACHED to the poncho. it would be a little more versatile. I have some beautiful chunky jewelry I would like to wear but with the scarf attached it won't show. Perhaps you can persuade the mfg to consider this. I do see it without the scarf, but I like the scarf look. but just make it detachable.Read More
Even though it's only 50% Alpaca and 50& acrylic , the acrylic actually seems to add to it's softness , durability and washability . Now shut my mouth , I wouldn't recommend an acrylic anything if I didn't believe it !Read More
Very soft alpaca wool - nice design and well made. Extremely pleased. Only con is I might prefer one with a front opening - buttons, zippers - this goes over head to put on or off - a MINOR inconvience.Read More
The poncho is comfortable with perfect length and sizing.Colors pleasing, perfect for cool weather.Read More
