These boots are beautiful. The leather, heels, and pleating makes them look distinctive, expensive and well-made--no mistaking these for cheap one-season boots, these are an investment piece. I'm very pleased with them overall. My only complaints are that they are a bit baggy around the ankles, which tightening the strap does not fix. The boot does have a slightly slouchy look to the bottom part it that you can't really see from the photos. I think it's fine, but if you want a boot fitted at the ankle, this isn't for you. It was a bit tight in the top part of the calves initially but the leather stretched out to fit after a few hours of wear. The zipper makes these very easy to wear with skinny jeans if you like. The sturdy, stacked heels and durable bottoms make this far more wearable and walkable than other high-heeled dress boots. If you plan to wear these boots all day, though, you'll probably want some arch support insoles, as these boots lack arch support. They run true to size and most likely do not need to be sized up even if you do want to wear thick socks with them, unless you are between sizes.
I've wanted some tall, well-made boots for a while, and Frye are the best. These boots fit true to size, so don't order a half size bigger. They look like they will last many years and always look stylish since they're a classic design with beautiful buckle detailing and lovely deep brown color. The heel is a great length, both flattering and comfortable and the boots are sophisticated and subtly sexy, since the toe is rounded and the heel is modest. I adore them.
I love these boots! The heel is not too high for comfort and yet they are super sexy. Tucked into skinny pants or with skirts, I always get compliments. I got the brown and the leather is beautiful, with a perfect casual fit around the ankles. I walk around San Francisco (but for the big hills) and they don't hurt my feet. I love Frye. I have the Frye engineer boots as well.
I've been lusting after these boots ever since I tried them on in a department store about 6 months ago . . . when I saw them on overstock for less than $100, I flipped out! The shipping was quick, so I got to wear my new frye boots out that very weekend :-)
These boots are going back--- they arrived in not-so-good shape and pinched my calves badly. I have pretty average sized calves and these boots are not made for someone average-sized or larger. They are difficult to zip up and are uncomfortable! I was looking forward to adding these to my wardrobe but the search continues.....
I was looking for months for stylish yet comfortable, good quality boots and found them from frye! These boots are nice and roomy, true to size so no need to go a 1/2 size bigger. I Definitely recommend them!
I gave these boots to my daughter for a Christmas gift. She called me after our celebration and said, "I can tell these are fine quality boots." One look at the Frye boot and you know they will be with you a long time.
The new Freys "Tina" boots I ordered from Overstock fit beautifully, are very comfortable and the quality is truly out-standing. They are also very chic in a classic way. To me that is very important since I am 70, but think I can still look sharp. The price (under $200.00) was also great since knee high Frye Boots usually are over $400.00. I am very happy with my purchase and have already suggested these boots to several friends.
