Cute but not for pear-shapes
I was really undecided about this dress until the last minute. It's very cute. It's very retro and an awesome throwback to the '60s mixed with modern boring shift dress. The colors didn't pop as much in person as they did online so that was sadly, really disappointing. I'm drawn to Eliza J dresses because of that mix of old school and modern but also because of the bright colors. Still, the style was very pretty. I'd like to think if I'd gone a size down to 10, things might have gone better but I think the style makes anyone pear-shaped look extremely hippy in a bad way. It's basically figure-flattering until you turn around. I have a big backside and there was still plenty of room left in the dress because it sort of poofs up in the back. My husband thought it was "kinda cute" and that's really it. Even so, I'd try it again in a size down though I wish the colors had been brighter so the dress would have that "wow" factor that would have made me fall in love with it! Also, despite being petite, I found that the dress was true to length even on me and I am 5'3''. I expected it to go past my knees as most of these "regular" dresses do but it was still above the knee.

- How accurate was the sizing? Go down one size. I'm normally a size 12 in Eliza J but for this dress, I should have gone down 1 size.
