These boots have a nice stable heel and good rubber sole that makes them feel secure for walking on ice while still loooking stylish. But they run VERY large. I almost always take an 8, as I need the room in the length as well as the width, but this 8 was too large (both length and width) to wear even with an extra Dr. Scholls insole added as well as my heaviest sox. DEFINITELY go 1 size down.

I have purchased Dr. Marten shoes from Overstock previously and always had great luck. Dr. Martens tend to run a little wide but that typically a good thing for me because often shoes run too narrow to wear socks so I have to go either without or find some really super thin socks to wear. I don't find the shoes to be huge and run fairly true to size and I can wear shoes from a 7 1/2 to a 9 depending upon the maker and the shoe type (flat/heel/boot). I found this boot to fit great except for the ankle. Due to childhood surgery I have abnormal ankles that are a bit wide. As a result I cannot zip these boots closed. I'm hoping the leather will stretch some and allow me to eventually close them all the way so I can wear them. It is very difficult for me to find boots, even winter boots, that will account for a wide ankle (I've even tried the Men's sizes in the Ugg style boots without luck and even wide calf boots with limited luck). There was a Dr. Marten ankle boot on the site before that worked for me, but seems the newer styles are just too narrow in the upper part of the boot.

very cute boots. comfortable. they run a size big. my daughter usually wears an 8, but the 7's fit perfect. and they are wide enough for her wide feet. would definitely recommend. wish they came in brown, too.

It's a really cute boot, but the sizing is off. I ordered the size I wear 95% of the time but these feel too wide and big. My feet hurt by the end of the day, guessing because of the looseness. Since I wore them and can't return them now, I plan to try a pair of insoles to see if that tightens them up. The price was reasonable but not if I can't wear them.
