  • A lightweight version of this fleece style

    This hat is pretty much as pictured (color aside). However, the very thin sheepskin that is actually used, with a it's short/closecut 'fleece' makes for a fairly 'skimpy' or compact version of this style hat. I've seen other similarly priced versions of these hats and they were all very thick leather and heavy/substantial, with nice long, thick fleece/fur. The tiny maniken head used in the picture creates an impression of a much higher quality, larger, thicker fleece than what you actually receive. To give an idea of how insubstantial this hat is would be to point out that it can easily be folded up and stuck into most coat pockets. Not exactly what I expected from such a high-priced hat so I returned mine. Perhaps it would work well for someone who wants to be able to carry it in a pocket or backpack however the thinner construction will obviously provide less warmth than a thicker version would.
