I am 5'8" 165 lbs and got size 14 which required taking in of the side seam. It now fits perfectly. I think a 12 would have been too tight through the hips. The zipper is gold and does zip but the fabric shows underneath. This of course is not investment fabric but good enough for at least two seasons. I wore this skirt with brown tights and ankle boots for a dressy casual look with a kick. Good value for the price.
