Ben Sherman Men's Slim Fit Navy Stripe Wool Suit

I was looking for a quality suit for upcoming interviews that would look professional while also reasonably stylish. Being 5'7" and about 145 lbs, I preferred a "slim fit" suit that would complement my frame rather than a more traditional cut that would seem overflowing and boxy on me. This Ben Sherman suit seems to fit all my needs well for a good price. The quality of the material and construction seems excellent for the price paid, and the fit is what I was looking for though tailoring will definitely be needed to get it to look right on me (not unexpected). I like the smaller lapels and the slimmer flat front slacks. The jacket will have a slim line once the tailor takes it in and the length of the arms and the jacket itself seem about right for the size (38S). Only caveat I offer is that if you're looking for a true navy blue suit this may not be the one for you. The color is very very dark and is almost indistinguishable from black. My eyes can barely tell that it isn't a black pin-stripe suit the color is that dark. The only way you can tell it is blue is by holding it against something that is actually black, and even though you'll only notice a subtle difference. So be aware. If that's not a problem for you than this is an excellent suit to purchase.

• How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The color more or less matched the picture on the site, however, that means that the suit is indeed VERY DARK for a navy blue suit. In fact, looking at it right now with my own eyes I have a hard time telling it from a black pin-stripe suit. The difference between blue and black on this suit is so subtle that I'd wager that 9 out of 10 people would just assume you're wearing a black striped suit so keep that in mind.
• Please tell us about the quality of the product. Quality seems excellent. Cloth is soft and flows well and the stitching seems of high quality for a suit in this price range. The inside lining of the jacket seems well done and with extra touches and finishes you'd not normally expect for the cost.
• How accurate was the sizing? The sizing seems fairly accurate. The pants fit pretty snuggly but not tightly, and the fit through the leg was slim but not tight or uncomfortable. The shoulders on the jacket seemed perfect for me and the length of the sleeve close though slightly long. The waste of the jacket will definitely need to be taken in as it has a taper to it but not nearly enough for my trim figure. This isn't a problem as I expected to need to have the suit tailored in the waste. The length of the jacket seems a slight bit long but that may just be the style and my eyes needing to get used to the cut.
