This brand and style of shoe proved itself on April 26, 2012. I was on the dock watching my truck being loaded. Walked away to get something. Was walking back over to the dock door and was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I saw the driver backing up. He was busy concentrating on getting me loaded and just didn't see me. (I'm vertically challenged at 5'3") I tried to get out of his way but just wasn't fast enough. He ended up catching my right foot with the back tire. The shoe got dented but not one broken bone or toe on my foot. Lots of bruising and stiches but nothing broken or crushed.
For canvas sneaker, they were a bit over-priced, and the pinch in the back of the heel. I should of paid an extra ten buck, and brought a pair of Converse brand sneakers.
Be sure to order a 1/2 size smaller, otherwise, you will be out $$$having to return them.
The shoes are exactly what I expected, except a bit more shiny. I guess shiny is hard to show in a photo.
If you purchase these sneakers, definitely get a half size smaller than you normally would. If that size is not available, do not bother to purchase. They are decently made and comfortable but since they are too large, I can't wear them. Also, the pair I received came in a dirty box that had definitely been opened several times. The bottom of the shoes were dirty, indicating to me that I received a pair that had been returned--likely because it was too big!
